Discussions with Dao
Summary: What are the different sounds of “Discussions with Dao”? The Low Dao: an evolution of one-to-one guest interviews that has butterflied into “the Asian Oprah that seeks motivational insight and success stories” The Jack-n-Out Connection (w/co-host Blackout Trainer): health and fitness trends? At the beginning, sure. Then we started highlighting our guests’ backgrounds and specialties. And now, we’re back to doing health and fitness trends via roundtable discussion. Lots of side rants and tangents to be had. Huge fanbase at Fitocracy. The Vagina Dialogues (w/co-host the $93 Million Girl): a channel to explore the psyche and differences between men and women. Profanity and explicit topics abound. This show is the reason why all Discussion with Dao podcasts are tagged with the explicit rating.

A quick reminder: next Monday on June 29th we’ll have our next Twitch stream. The broadcast starts at 6pm ET, and no worries— we’ll have things wrapped up just in time for RAW. In case you missed the last ‘cast, we’ve ripped the audio for your listening pleasure. You can tune in here: For those who want a quick run-through of what was covered, we… have you covered. First, we discussed the passing of Dusty Rhodes. Audi will forever remember his polka-dot greatness. Jon will forever respect the legacy of the Bionic Elbow, as well as Dustin Rhodes and Cody Rhodes. We also realized that his representation in video games was quite limited. Next, the catalogue has had a preview on the Kickstarter campaign this whole time. At this point, we can definitively say it won’t look like that. Right now we’re in the process of selecting the layout. We want it to be real easy to go in and look at all these games that you never knew existed before, to see the progression throughout wrestling video game history. There’ll be screenshots, an overview of what made each game different (or in some cases, not so different), and a few bits of trivia. A preview of possible layouts will be available for you to see. As for the book part, a preview of a few chapters is also on its way soon. Audi wants you to get a feel of how it reads. To clarify, WWE 2K15 won’t be covered in the book. Final fun fact: if you’re meeting someone who’s developing a wrestling game, do NOT ask them if it’s going to be anything like No Mercy. Plenty of people have probably asked them that ad naseum.

I don't think I've ever had a guest with these great of a mic setup. Off the heels of his successful Kickstarter campaign, The Piano Collection, Chris Huelsbeck guest stars to discuss how it all came to be. That is, this life as a video game composer.
We give a spoiler-filled discussion of Age of Ultron: Are the Avengers getting too big? How do you feel about the character they killed? Is it possible for other universes to combine (i.e. the X-Men franchise, the Netflix series)? Where did the love angle come from? (Do you think the romance subplots are shoe-horned in for the female audience?) Is there enough beef between Iron Man and Captain America to lead to Civil War? Who cares about Thanos? How are the next wave of superhero movies going to compete?
The (even further) disappointing turn of Jon Jones, plus talk on the women's strawweight division and Khabib's injury
Maybe not my first podcast (that credit goes to the JNOC), but a little snippet of branching off into my own non-fitness show.
"Of course you want people to like you because you're human. You're a social animal, but you don't NEED people to like you. There are how many other people on the planet? Are you going to spend the rest of your life getting the other 6-7 billion people on earth to like you? And then you can rest and relax knowing you're popular?"
So what if we're about to get more snow? A new Low Dao is here! In this episode Greg covers his Armenian roots and talks about living in Vietnam.
We were going to do a 2014 year end special, but it didn't work out that way. Instead, here's a bit of a soapbox stance. Why aren't there more Asians in leading roles?
A look back at our top picks of the year, plus comments on the marketing and promotion in the K-Pop industry.
