As Christians, our faith is far more than just rolling the dice with our prayers, hoping and wishing for God to do greater things in our lives. Having faith requires participation too. We see this over and over again throughout the Bible. The people God uses to accomplish greater things not only want God to move in their lives, but are also willing to work through their faith. And in this clip from part two of our series GREATER, Pastor Steven helps us redefine what an active faith in God really looks like.

We all have areas of our lives where we have settled. Areas where we’ve decided that “good enough” is good enough. But God hasn’t called us as believers in Jesus to merely survive the world, plodding along in our daily routine, waiting for the day we die. No, there’s more to our existence than that. In part 1 of our series Greater, Pastor Steven talks about the greater life God calls us to, and the unconventional path we must follow to get there.

Strong. Patient. Loving. Just. These are the kind of words that God uses to describe Himself. But what about the words God uses to describe us? Why do we struggle to believe Him when He calls us loved, wise, chosen, and blameless? How do we reconcile God's identity with our own? In this series, discover how to re-imagine yourself in the image of God.

At Elevation Church, we do student ministry a little different. We don’t have a “youth group” in the traditional sense of the word. Instead, we encourage our students to be a part of the weekend worship experience, join student small groups and serve in their church and the community. Why wait for them to grow up to be a part of what God is doing? Every year we take a weekend to celebrate our students as the men and women of God they are becoming in Christ. We call it Student Takeover. In part 3 of our sermon series I Know He Is, But What Am I?, Pastor Steven uses this year’s Student Takeover to speak directly to our students, encouraging them that no matter what they go through this school year, their identity is secure – when they know who they belong to.

We all, to some extent, live in “the gap.” Whether you are a lead pastor with a lifetime of experience, or a brand new believer in Christ – “the gap” exists. On one side is who God says we are and His commands for our lives. And on the other side is how we actually feel and what we do instead. Here’s the good thing – this isn’t a new struggle. Peter. Paul. Jonah. David. Adam. Over and over again throughout scripture you can see this schizophrenic juxtaposition. What God says. What we do instead. Repeat. So how do we fix “the gap”? In part 2 of our sermon series I Know He Is, But What Am I, Pastor Steven teaches us that closing “the gap” has less to do with our activity and far more to do with our identity.

No matter who you are, we all have at least one thing in common. We all share the natural, conscious desire to know who we are and why we are here on this planet. But before we can understand ourselves, we have to gain an understanding of who God is. If we don't have a knowledge of the Creator, we'll never fully grasp the purpose of His creation and the plans He has for us. In the first week of our series I Know He Is But What Am I? Pastor Steven laid the groundwork for his teaching by reminding us what the Bible says about the perfect character and matchless characteristics of our God.

If you look closely at your fears, you'll quickly find that they all tend to have the same distinguishing characteristics. They paralyze, condemn, diminish hope, and are designed to render us ineffective - and they're all based entirely on something that might not even happen. Why do our fears have this type of powerful control on our lives? Often, it has to do with our own limited perspective. In the final installment of our series Room 101, Pastor Steven teaches us the difference between the warnings of God and the threats of the Enemy, as we learn a perspective-shifting approach to our greatest fears.

Think of your worst fear. The fear that keeps you up at night or wakes you in a panic. For many of us, these are the "what if" scenarios we replay in our heads over and over again. Why do we struggle to get past our deepest fears? Is there ever a way out of this destructive cycle of "what if"?

We are all afraid of something. And for most of us, these fears are preventing us from reaching our greatest potential. Fear of acceptance. Fear of failure. Fear of not being in control. The thing is, many of these fears aren't even rational. They're exaggerated lies that Satan wants us to believe about us, about our circumstances and about God. And these lies can lead us into some dark situations. In part two of our series Room 101: Facing Your Greatest Fears, Pastor Steven teaches through the life of Elijah to show us three powerful techniques God uses to help us overpower our fears in the face of the Enemy.
