The Creepercast Horror Podcast

We revel again over Romero's Night of the Living Dead (1968) bringing us the zombies we know and love with a recap of our discussion with Gary Streiner, Zombi 2 (1979) rip offs Dawn of the Dead while also bridging the gap between VooDoo and flesh eaters while leading us into gorier zombies (and shark vs zombie action), and Peter Jackson's Dead Alive aka Braindead (1992) goes too far with all of it!

The best of the B-rated! Peter Jackson's first film Bad Taste (1987) is the pride of New Zealand; Project Greenlight's (Affleck/Damon) Feast (2005) is fast paced insanity even if we don't know for sure where the roadkill covered creatures originate from; and we get all nostalgic over the #1 film on our B-list, Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988), the movie that taught us to be afraid of klowns (along with IT) and how to beat them when they attack (shoot the nose)!

Made in Ireland or about the Irish! Jeff and Jason drink like Irish men (at least one of them really is) and get nostalgic about Leprechaun (1993) after all, there's no-one more Irish than Warwick Davis! They get annoyed with Rawhead Rex (1986), although, Jeff claims it has some significance! Jason pledges he will never travel the Irish countryside after Dead Meat (2004), especially when a zombie cow turns the tables on humanity!

Jeff asks Nick the hard hitting questions, like what's with all the apocalyptic faith movies and is it a per-requisite for actors to over act in Asylum movies? His answers are great and may not be what you expect!

We continue talking with Night of the Living Dead cast/crew/family member Gary Streiner! In this epic discussion hour 2 - Night of the Living Dead (1968) stories you have never heard! Gary also gives his opinion on the current state of horror and asks "who cares?" if zombies can walk or run! More on why YOU should join the family and help Save the Chapel!

fixthechapel.com is the grassroots effort of Night of the Living Dead fans to restore and preserve the chapel in Evans City Cemetery, a cinematic landmark from the George A. Romero classic horror film. Fundraising activities include donations and merchandise sales through the web site and online auctions, as well as raising awareness at horror conventions and via social networks such as Facebook and YouTube. A goal of $50,000 is being sought.

We talk about the stereotypical slasher Valentine (2001) adding another holiday killer to the list, while at Lovers Lane (2000) we suggest you treat like it was really made in the 80's, and finally while on our Zombie Honeymoon (2004) we eat our friends!

Henry Rollins kicks mutant ass in Wrong Turn 2: Dead End (2007), Hellverton, Colorado isn't gonna take [Dee Snider's] Strangeland (1998), Jeff explains why he chose [Alice Cooper's] Monster Dog (1985) for this episode (believe it or not, even he's not sure it really happened!) even if it is a long music video worth a rainy night watch!

We talk with Barry F'n Bostwick! This was an epic episode of the Creepercast that broke all our usual rules! From the pop group The Klowns to Some Guy Who Kills People, we discussed everything this man has done with a lot of Rocky Horror Picture Show included!

Jeff and Jason (Ryan called in sick, we think its the T-19 virus) return to discuss the season thus far with recent developments about the show including Jeff hanging out with the Vatos and Sophia at ABQ Comic Con 2012 (Lovesdragons joins on the hotline to tell her side of the story) and a special message from Sophia (Madison Lintz) to Jason!

Get your thinking cap on folks because its time to get schooled! Zombies 101: Lesson 1 – Origins, VooDoo and Re-animation! Philosophical discussions about Bela Legosi epitomizing evil in White Zombie (1932), who do voodoo in Serpent in the Rainbow (1988) & Frankenstein was the monster, not the monster. Zombies 101 is something we will do every month for most of the year to assist Jeff in developing a film class designed around the zombie culture! This month was all about voodoo! Madison Lintz (Sophia, The Walking Dead) starts the show while 80's nostalgia returns as the Creeps raise Ghoulies (1985) & wonder why people always read the demon raising book to cause Ghoulies 2 (1988) but still scream until they like it! Critters (1986) is 80's gold and features icons from horror of the decade and causes the Creeps to reminisce about the days of blowing things up as teens without being called a terrorist, while Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (2011) far surpasses the 1970's original in countless ways!

As this bewitching episode begins they both wonder why Nick Cage keeps getting movies like Season of the Witch (2011) or any for that matter, the history lesson continues with Black Death (2010), and Warlock (1989) turned out to be sillier than they remembered but a fantastic nostalgic trip!

Jason gives the top ten horror movies he's seen 2011 which prompts more argument over Let Me In vs Let the Right One In. Jeff gives the top Creepercast episodes of 2011 that are a must listen if you either missed or need to hear them again! Also you must hear to believe Jeff's appeal to Barry Bostwick to join us on the show!

This week: Jeff and Jason suffer through another list of freezing films with an homage to Kubrick's The Shining called Dead of Winter (2007) with a twist that makes Shyamalamadingdong look like the genius he thinks he is! Jason bites his tongue over his opinions about global warming so Jeff expresses them for him as a giant ghost moose terrorizes in The Last Winter (2006)! Jeff loves Dreamcatcher (2003) and shares his knowledge of both book and film while Jason doesn't! Jesus Christ bananas! DUDDITTS!
