Problems with the 2012 EBR 1190RS appear to be getting addressed as both Danny Eslick and Geoff May saw podium spots this weekend. While Ken was disappointed by Polaris' decision to use the old Indian bikes for their 2012 models he was pleasantly surprised when they announced a new line of Indians is on the way. After a lot of consternation about Hero Honda of India buying Ducati, one of our listeners keyed us in several weeks ago that Audi was very interested.  Well Olaf was right and today it was announced that Audi had purchased Ducati.  I wonder how Valentino Rossi feels about joining his iconic Italian team only to have it sold to a German company? Our beloved governor in the State of Virginia has finally done something us riders have requested for decades and that's repealing the law prohibiting riders from riding 2-up in a lane: thank you Governor McDonnell! Taiwan court says if you open your car door into traffic and a motorcyclist hits it you're gonna pay big -- lots of nucks. The AMA announced its 2012 Hall of Fame nominees - quite a few well-known names, but they're missing the most important one; Just kidding! Michigan governor has approved an optional helmet law - so if you're 21 or over in the state you can choose to go helmetless...but you gotta buy extra insurance. For BMW Motorad it was the best of times and the worst of times.  First they announced their biggest quarter in the company's history followed shortly by a $3 million U.S. fine for failure to act fast enough on recalls. Mitch Daniels won't be the next president of the U.S. but he issued a very entertaining article on suggestions for buying a motorcycle. A study comes out with proof that the first year of riding a motorcycle is the most dangerous, only exceeded by the risk during the first 30 days. MotoGP Season Kicks-off! Ken is forced to surrender his man-card after being scared by a spring. Study says motorcycle deaths up in Pennsylvania since relaxing helmet laws, but study's numbers are very confusing. Concow, CA woman taking her first ride on a 3-wheeled motorcycle plunges off cliff and loses her life. Fleeing from the police is never wise, but when you do it with a passenger it's amazingly stupid. We're all giddy at The DawgHouse was the MotoGP season kicked off. First we enjoyed a great Moto2 race where some of the early favorites did not disappoint.  Marc Marquez came back after virtually no practice or testing and put in a very impressive performance.  The odd-on favorite, Tom Luthi started off well, but a confrontation with Marquez didn't go his way and he took a swing (actually a slap) at Marquez after the race.  Crazy Joe Iannone showed he'll have a big part of the 2012 season. MotoGP was everything we could've hoped for after a long winter.  Ben Spies had a rough week in Qatar, including laying down his bike twice. He never quite recovered and put in an uninspirational performance. Ducati had reason to look ahead as Nicky Hayden looked strong during the week, but his race was only so-so.  Meanwhile Valentino Rossi almost surely wants to forget Qatar all together. Casey Stoner needs to work on tire management and curing his front-end issues.  Have no doubt that Honda will spare no pocket-change to get that bike right by the next race. Dani Pedrosa looked like the Dani from before his accidents.  He's healthy and he's hungrey and he managed wear on the new tires better than almost anyone else.  The lone exception may be Jorge Lorenzo who followed Casey waiting for his grip to go away...and it did late in the race.  Certainly a frustrating experience for the Wold Chamption so expect he'll be back with a full-on flame thower under his seat. Ken's pick for the surprise of the Qatar premier race was Stefan Bradl, who easily adjusted to the new 1000cc purp0se built 2-wheeled rocket ships. Bradl was competitive throughout the race, but it wasn't going to get him past the two real stars of Qatar, Andrea Dovisioso who had has an incredible premier on the Monster Tech 3 Yamaha along with his team mate who he battled, Cal Crutchlow. Dovi shows he deserves to be a team's top rider - and Crutchlow impresses too.

 The DawgHouse #159 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:00:00

Ken started off this episode fired up with a stupid business move by Harley Davidson to restrict where independent motorcycle shops can purchase parts. Ken also watched Indoor EnduroCross for the first time and was thoroughly entertained. A tragic accident in Hawaii involving 50 motorcycles took two lives in a chain-reaction wreck. One of the military bases in the local area of the DawgHouse just announced that fluorescent vests are now optional. One of our sponsors was just swept up by MAG as they purchased the Motorcycle Superstore to join J&P Cycles in their retail group. Kansas motorcyclist finds out that hitting a buffalo with your motorcycle isn't a pleasant experience. North Dakota man's father tells him he's going to steal his motorcycle...and does! The heir to the throne of England has a problem with mice - they ate his Ducati...or at least part of it. AMA Supercross crowned a champion in record time, leaving four races to determine 2nd and 3rd. King Carlos Checa once again demonstrates his domination of World Superbike as he took both races in Imola. It's hard to hold back our excitement as we get ready to kick off MotoGP season this weekend...Yahoo!

We kicked off the showing talking about a lot of changes coming to the DawgHouse world.  First we're building a new website with new subscription options, including premium content.  We also announced our new studios that are under construction and the birth of a dream a real professional DawgHouse Radio Productions Studio. The man who had more influence on Harley Davidson for the past 30 years, Willie G. Davidson announced his retirement. New Hampshire is at it again, trying once more to muffle motorcycles. The Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC) gave a very depressing forecast for 2012. Man catches the edge of a manhole cover, loses control and hits a brick wall - wearing no helmet of course...ouch! Ryan Villopoto moved one step closer to the Supercross championship in Toronto. The guys are getting excited as we get ready for round two of World Superbike with an Imola preview.

No news is good news? Yeah, that's right - we skipped the news for the first time in more than 3 years cause we got a packed show. All eyes in the U.S. were focused on the world center of racing, the Daytona Speedway, where we had a full suite of racing: the Daytona AMA Pro Flat Track, the AMA Supersport Daytona, the world famous Daytona 200 and the kick off of AMA Pro Superbikes! We also touched on what may soon be the earliest end to the AMA Supercross season as Indianapolis saw the last contender for Ryan Villopoto's title went down. We wrap things up with an interview with Lee Conn of Motus Motorcycles as the prepare to go into full production on their new American Superbikes.

 The DawgHouse #156 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:00:00

It was a wet Daytona Supercross, but Ken remembers a time that it was a lot wetter. Getting off that stretcher could be worse than what put you there. We come across a new type of motorcycle theft: Craigsjacking. Marlon Brando's estate sues Harley Davidson and the Motor Company settles.  U.K. insurance company offers up 10 ways to keep your bike at home. We had the good fortune to visit again with the 2011 Daytona 200 winner Jason DiSalvo.  He's on the same team but he's got a new Triumph ride.  In a few short days we'll see what he and the new bike can do at the Daytona 200 - we suspect he'll do quite well.  We'll also get to see how the DawgHouse knack for interviewing racers the week before they stand attop the podium holds up...like it did just a year ago with Jason.
