Gettin Local with the Green Divas Segment #1: Local Food Systems
Gettin Local with the Green Divas: whever YOU are! We had a great time in the studio with Guest Green Diva Meghan Van Dyk, editor of the Daily Record's Grassroots section. We were kicking off our new weekly segment about being local whever you are. We talked about sustainability in education, pink slime and why we should give up bottled water.
In case you haven't gotten the memo, bottled water is a serious envirnomental nightmare. Please listen to this short segment and learn why.

Green Divas Sleeping Naked is Green Segment #22: No More Bottled Water
GD Lisa was out this week, so we had a guest Green Diva, EcoKaren (aka Karen Lee) sitting in. We dished about a recent head-spinning, but cool green twitter party hosted by Practically Green. We also listened to a great pre-recorded interview GD Meg did with Jessica Alba about her new company the Honest Company. A great Sleeping Naked is Green segment about VOCs and how to avoid them in our homes.
We had Chris Murphy, of the Smart Little House store in Roseland, NJ call in for this segment. Chris is an expert on non-toxic homes, VOCs and offers some surprising (and disturbing) details to this topic.

Green Divas Sleeping Naked is Green Segment #21: Use Low-VOC or Water-Based Paints
A very green diva episode with a short Why Should We Care piece that GD Meg recorded earlier in the week with Jessica Alba. the Sleeping Naked is Green segment was all about recycling our sneakers. Our feature interview was with Rachel Kaplan, author of Urban Homesteading: Heirloom Skills for Sustainable Living. GREAT information and lots of it!
Some great ideas about how easy it is to recycle your sneakers and all the amazing ways they are being repurposed into new materials for playgrounds, basketball courts and tracks. Also, a couple of ideas for finding sustainably made sneakers.

Green Divas Sleeping Naked is Green Segment #20: Recycle Your Running Shoes
A special show with too many headliners! For our Why Should We Care campaign, we talked to the beautiful Sarah Stavrou, and the ever-green wonderful Ed Begley, Jr. Both had such wonderful things to say. Then, as if that wasn't enough fun, we had a feature interview with the very busy EcoKaren about her work with EcoEtsy, GreenLivingIdeas.com her gig with Marth Stewart and some new fun for her team with Practically Green!
We were inspired by a February entry in the book that stated, "Write poetry in haiku form only." We couldn't exactly figure out why that was green, but we decided to find and share a couple of our favorite poems about nature. We read three of them in this short segment.
