Fantastic Humboldt musician Melanie Barnett is releasing her album that she's been working on for a couple years tomorrow at the Santcuary (1301 J Street in Arcata) at 7 PM. She came in with her bandmates Cory Goldman, Nat Zwerdling and Gabe Lubowe to do an instudio yesterday. It was really great! Have a listen. The Joanne Rand Band is performing tomorrow at the Arcata Playhouse to raise funds for the Siskiyou Land Conservancy. Joanne and Rob Diggins came in to chat about the benefit and perform a few tunes.
Foxtrot came in to play some tunes and promote their highly anticipated CD release show tomorrow at the Sanctuary in Arcata (just down the street from the Vet's Hall at 1301 J Street).

Humboldt funk aficionados Object Heavy came in to chat and play some music. They spoke about some exciting things such as a new EP coming out called Transitions, a music video and much much more. Head out to the Jam on Saturday night to see them do their thang.
The Handshakers (fomerly Rogues' Gallery) has their debut show tonight, with the new line up and such, at Phatsy Kline's Parlor Lounge at the Inn at 2nd & C. Streets (Historic Eagle House). They came in to do a fantastic set beforehand on the radio. Check it out!
Altan came all the way from Ireland to spread traditional Celtic music and their love of the Irish language. They were kind enough to stop by the KHUM studio on the way to play tonight up at Humboldt State. Altan is: Dáithí Sproule- guitar, Martin Tourish- accordion, Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh- lead vocals + fiddle, Ciarán Curran- bouzouki.
