 Flea Market Finds-Season 2, Episode 3 (feat. Wonway Posibul) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5577

This week Wonway Posibul of the Latin Soul Bros. came to visit the Flea Market but he got lost in the way, or something and we were already drunk so we started recording some nonsense of a show, the way we usually do it. We were almost done when our guest finally arrived and joined us and the show finally got interesting in the last third so you can skip all our bullshit if you want and listen to the last 30 or so minutes and avoid the pain of listening to Juan and Pedro talking about their scrotum-shaving habits and Eva's college adventures. It's up to you.

 Flea Market Finds-Season 2 Episode 1 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5066

After an extended hiatus, the scavengers are back to the market with a whole new season, new art, new casting, new format, better quality and better English pronunciation. Not really, just new art (and it's not even finished!). Same drunken nonsense. In this Season's first episode our heroes meet at a Mexican restaurant and collectively fall in love with a Salvadoran waitress, then they mix wine with beer and everything goes down hill from there. As usual. Music by La Misa Negra, P3culiar, Sr. Flavio, Systema Solar and Los Macuanos.

 Flea Market Finds-Episode 40 (feat. Pancho Pescador) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5400

Pancho is a well known visual artist, muralist, photographer, political activist and teacher in the Latino Bay Area community, but we invited him to this particular 40th show mainly because he's Chilean and he lived in Chile during the times of Pinochet. This show was recorded on the night of September 11th 2013, and we commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Coup D'état that removed Allende and put Pinochet in power in Chile. Besides talking politics, as expected, we drank a lot of Mexican beer and we ended up chatting about random stuff, as usual. Some of the topics covered in this spanglish-spoken episode include: the Occupy movement, magic mushrooms, Star Wars music, Latin American bureaucracy, sex education classes in the Mexican consulate, the use of culo vs. pompis, life as an exile, the Chilean student protests, a Mexican chick who flashed her chichis at a concert and things went berserk (no, it wasn't Eva), religious rituals and pee-drinking and plenty more nonsense. The playlist includes exclusively Chilean music by artists like Makiza, Ana Tijoux, Tunacola, Astro, La Cumbia de Patricio Cobarde and RVSB.

 Flea Market Finds-Episode 39 (feat. DJ Agana) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5384

It's been a year since we started Flea Market Finds and to celebrate the anniversary we got drunk (as expected) and we invited DJ Agana to join us at the studio, bring some of her music and share with us some of her adventures. A multi-talented artist, Agana raps, DJs, makes mash-ups, paints graffiti, designs jewelry and not only does animation, but she teaches it too. And somehow she manages to find time to have a life and a boyfriend! So, when she arrived to the studio a bit too late, we couldn't hold it against her. She's a busy lady. A couple of drinks later we had her talking about her aunt's wardrobe malfunction caught on film, her past in juvenile hall, her vinyl digging early addiction and her love for Brazilian percussion and capoeira. Other topics discussed in this randomness-filled episode include Pedro's foot fetish and on-line dating escapades, Juan's own experiences in the bombing world and of course, his dick. Just another usual night at the Flea Market.

After their guest cancelled, the Fleamarketeers decided to go get some tacos and beers before recording their 37th (in a row?) show.  Flea Market Finds-Episode 35 (feat. Santero) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 5130

Santero came to share his millenary wisdom at the Flea Market resulting on our longest (and probably most interesting) podcast to date. Besides playing us some of his African-inspired upcoming music and a track by our Brazilian Goddess Zuzuka Poderosa, we talked about pretty much every single topic that concerns humanity and the universe including: how to become ordained a priest in Santería, the connections between mushrooms, the mayans and aliens living among us, the cross-pollination of African and Latin American music, the troubles of being an independent music artist in the modern world, the history of English pop songs covered by Latinos, en español, the history of teenager urban subcultures and how they get commodified by corportate America, the impossible connections between punk rock and reggaetón, the history of hip-hop’s origins,  Oakland’s portrayals in cinema and more… All in perfectly fluent Spanglish.
