Midnight DBA

Tonight we have all kinds of good stuff. We start by paying off a lost bet, and then we talk about snapshots, form emails, and a guy who was told to stop teaching his co-workers and just do his job.

This week brings a fabulous interview skit, a nice rant, and a discussion on MVP awards. We also talk about another bad vendor call and much more. This is our first show of the year so we're kicking it off strong.

There's a step you can make in your code to improve it many times over. It's an easy step to take, but it can make all the difference. You shouldn't overlook this step so come learn how to make all your code tons better.

Sometimes you need to get info on objects you've created. Here you can see how you can query for this info, and even learn a cool trick for greatly simplifying the process.

It's New Year's Eve and we're having some fun. We've got a big puppet show, a good rant, and a couple awards.

This is a xmas blowout like no other. We have our Itzik tree and we do an elf interview as well as some very naughty gifts to exchange. This is probably one of our more vulgar episodes, so be prepared for some bad language. It's all good clean fun though so come have a xmas ball with us.

A fabulous show this week. We have Denny Cherry, and we use him to talk about the new SOPA bill debates going on in congress right now. We're also big fans of his security book. Come join the fun, but remember, when Denny's in the house language goes out the window.

This is a special election episode. We have 2 guests campaigning tonight. We have one trying to go up into space, and on trying to get on the PASS board. And we also talk about critical stop madness and an excellent discussion on resumes.

This was such a fun week. We talked about a ridiculous sa password breech, answered a great question from viewer email, a silly query problem, and much more. We had a good time.

We have a wonderful show this week. Jen actually has a rant, we talk about SOPA and how bad it sucks, and we recount a nice yelling match. There's also lots more including .Net guys, and a great discussion on 5-9's.

This was a fun episode where we talk about IT guys spooning for questions, connection troubleshooting with telnet, and how much we hate SQL Workshops.

PASS Special: We make sure we talk to Mark Souza every year at PASS. If you don't know who Mark is, he's in charge of several groups at MS including SQL MVP and SQLCAT. He even founded both of those programs. So yeah, he's not only a big deal, but he worships us and does whatever we say.
