CAL FIRE Battalion Chief Paul Duncan -- a member of CAL FIRE Local 2881 -- and his wife Courtney Duncan -- a CAL FIRE Communications Operator -- tell the story of their family's harrowing flight from last Fall's Valley Fire. While Paul was battling the massive Lake County blaze, he also guided his family by cell phone safely through the flames. Their home was one of hundreds destroyed in the fire. www.cpffirevision.org

Emergency Aid in Los Angeles - The California Fire Foundation's Supplying Aid to Victims of Emergency, or SAVE, program has officially launched in the state's largest metropolitan area, with the Los Angeles city and county fire departments, as well as their respective employee groups, having adopted the program. Roughly half the state's residents are now served by a department participating in SAVE.
