Are you waiting for permission before you start working on something important? Are you hoping someone tells you how to do, what you want to do? Being effective and efficient…Is that interesting to you? Of course it is, why else would you listen to a podcast titled, Your Best Just Got Better? But, being productive…That’s not your end goal is it? You don’t want to just get things done, do you? Don’t just hope you magically get there…Start seeing it. And, don’t just take my word for it… “The mind is like a fertile garden,” Bruce Lee said. “It will grow anything you wish to plant—beautiful flowers or weeds. And so it is with successful, healthy thoughts or with negative ones that will, like weeds, strangle and crowd the others. Do not allow negative thoughts to enter your mind for they are the weeds that strangle confidence.” In this episode, you’ll learn… * DO you know the elements of YOUR Ideal Days? * Practice does NOT make perfect. Never has. Never will. * You want to get comfortable?  202: The Universe Rewards Action - at least that’s what we say in California | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 24:46

Have you ever been ashamed of how much you have? Do you play it on the “down-low” how much more you want? A teacher I’ve learned a LOT from was Peter Drucker. Mind you, I never met him. But, I am mentored by his Protege Ms. Frances Hesselbein. Recently, I read this quote he wrote: “Those who perform love what they’re doing.” It’s my opinion that you weren’t put here on the planet to ever have time to “do nothing.” No, not for people like you and I. The whole reason you’d listen to a podcast called Your Best Just Got Better is, in fact, so you can figure out how to do MORE! In this episode, you’ll learn… * Do you know the BEST times to acknowledge someone for a job well done? * What “Wanting more” has to do with “Being more.” * How to “extinguish” behavior you want someone to stop. * (Especially if that person is you!) * Finally, what to do about all the “More” you already have!  201: No More Work-Life Balance. We call it momentum | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 15:23

Is there a project you want to get started you keep putting off? Are you frustrated that you STILL don’t have work-life balance? I read recently that Marisa Meyer is really making a statement about the intersection of work-life focus. Writing on her Tumblr, she said: “Since my pregnancy has been healthy and uncomplicated and since this is a unique time in Yahoo’s transformation, I plan to approach the pregnancy and delivery as I did with my son three years ago, taking limited time away and working throughout.” Would you compare your ability to achieve work-life balance with someone who has a net worth of $380MM? Would you be able to do more, be more and have more if you made nearly $1MM a week? I wouldn’t. In fact, if you REALLY want to stress yourself out, compare yourself - what you have, where you are, what you do, how you live - to someone who has different goals, different opportunities, and different realities than you. Stop trying to achieve work-life balance. Instead, get momentum on your most important things. In this episode, you'll learn… * Do you know what Jason and Jodi are working on these days? * Motivation is out. Momentum is in. * There is one activity you can bring back to your team that will help them. * Momentum happens the MOMENT you’re engaged. * There are specific things you can do to Get Momentum starting now! Who inspires you to set goals? Have you set the right goals lately?Just last weekend, I bought Jodi and I tickets to see the comedian Kathleen Madigan “do her thing” in Thousand Oaks, California. I’m telling’ ya, for about an hour I laughed, and thought, and wondered…it was amazing to see her up there on stage. More than 180! * When you join www.TimeToGetMomentum.com you receive 3 copies of Jason’s book. * An “Ideal Day” is not a perfect day; it’s not a once in a lifetime day.  196: How to make - and keep - a promise | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 8:59

What have you said “yes” to? Could you manage your agreements better?Years ago, I earned a Master’s Degree in Psychology. Are you losing an opportunity to learn? Did you know a complaint is the kindest thing they can give you? When it comes time to making your best a little bit better, where do you go to get the advice you need? Some leaders wait for their 360 reviews. Other leaders hope their teams/vendors/clients/managers give them feedback “just-in-time.” Still others are too busy in their day to day to even notice if/when things are off. Don’t be one of those leaders. Instead, actively pursue the complaints. In doing so, you gain an advantage. In this episode, you will learn… * We’re on the countdown…8 more episodes until we celebrate 200! * Jason made a HUGE offer, but ya gotta listen to both this AND last week’s podcast * The fastest way to get from Point A to Point Z * What Jason learned as a high school teacher that changed the game.  190: When you are committed to winning | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 9:35

Are you committed? Is winning a “nice to” or a “HAVE to”?I spent an hour on a video chat yesterday with a client I’m working with in Harare, Zimbabwe. Yes, you read that correctly… A book reader in Africa has invited us to create and facilitate a “Leadership Development Symposium” for three groups to come and study together. For the first 30 minutes we talked, we shared stories of our experiences: Linda has been “leading the community” for more than 30 years, and she discovered my book when a TED Speaker - Saki Mafundikwa - brought it to her after he and I met in Portland, Oregon last July! This week’s podcast uncovers some of the secrets I’ve discovered over the years of studying high performance workplace performance. First of all “work” is a word we sometimes mis-understand. You see, some people think work is something they “go to” and “get paid for.” That’s not our definition. To us here at The Womack Companies, work is what we do because we see something that could be #better. (Yes, we DO use the hashtag before the word better…) In this episode, you’ll also learn… * What happens when you commit to something with your heart AND mind. * Jason has traveled to San Francisco and Marin County. * Jason’s passport is going to get stamped a LOT over the next 6 months. * Why “thinking” isn’t enough. You have to ___ __________ if you’re going to achieve more. * What you can do with a “REAL LIFE” situation to make progress on, and stress about less!  189: When you choose to lead, something happens | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 8:14

Are you a leader? Would people follow you?Recently, an old colleague called me for a chat. About 10 minutes in to the conversation he said, “I’m thinking of joining Get Momentum, but I’m not sure that I’m a leader.” I had to pause. And think. I asked him, “Would you say that other people around you listen to your ideas and advice?” He said they did. I asked, “Do you follow up with people after you’ve met with them to check in on their progress [he works in personal finance].” He said he did. Well, let me be the one to tell you, there are THREE things great leaders do, and you’ll hear all about them in this podcast. In this episode, you’ll also learn… * One of Jason’s writing mentors gave him the BEST advice EVER! * The Leadership Skill of “delegation” will change you for the #Better. * What to do when you see someone “wandering in the dark”. * The Get Momentum Leadership Retreat starts next week!. * It’s almost February!
