Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

The name of the band Dirty Kitchen refers to front man Frank Solivan's second (though a close second) passion. He is a wizard of the kitchen. There are many kitchen and food references in the music of the master mandolin player; Scourchin' the Gravy and the song Dirty Kitchen are just two. The old time sound that Frank brings with his mandolin and the very twenty first century lyrics make this group a delicious treat. If you would like to know more about this group you can check their MySpace page www.myspace.com/franksolivan or look him up on Facebook. Their music is for sale on Itunes. I would like to thank Quicksilver productions www.quicksilverproductions.net for bringing this artist to my attention. As always please comment on any of the episodes and subscribe on the right side of the page. Thanks for checking in.  Henhouse Prowlers and Spring Creek Bluegrass Band | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

This week I am featuring two groups that were brought to my attention by Spring Creek Publicity. I want to thank Garian Vigil. If you would like to book either of these groups contact Garian by email, springcreekbluegrass@gmail.com . The fist group is the Henhouse Prowlers of Chicago. This quartet hails from all over the United States. Illinois, North Carolina, Upstate New York. Even with the geographical diversity, this group manages to hit that old time, traditional sound right on the proverbial head. While they keep that traditional sound their content is 21st century. Give them a listen and check out their website at www.henhouseprowlers.com . Their music is for sale there and you can find out where to see them in person. My second group is Spring Creek Bluegrass Band. You NEED to see their website. www.springcreekbluegrassband.com . It is fun, like a video game. They have music for sale and the latest news and views about the group. These folks are from all over the country, too but it seems they chose Colorado to get together. This summer they will be touring south to Missouri and North Carolina and have a full schedule in Colorado after that. Listen to their music while you play on their website. It is akin to watching an old movie with the sound turned off and listening to music at the same time. Wow, the good old days but I digress. Thanks for listening today and as always, feel free to comment on any of my posts. You may also subscribe to this Podcast at the buttons on the right side of the page or at the Itunes store.  Peavine Creek String Band and Don Summers | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

The Peavine Creek String Band was brought to my attention by Don Summers. The band has been around since the mid '70s and the latest version of the band has been around since 1996. The whole band have been musically inclined since a young age. Some of the members are engaged in the business of teaching music and others are also involved in more than one musical project (band). The beautiful instrumentation (from some well seasoned old instruments) and the warm harmonies create a “Must Hear” , old time listening experience. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do. To see more about Peavine Creek String Band look at www.payplay.fm/pcsb , there is a great bio of the band there and you can purchase their music on that site. If you would like to know more about Don Summers or would like to purchase his music contact me directly red.smokingrass@gmail.com . This is my tenth episode and Smokin' Grass Music has grown by leaps and bounds thanks to my regular listeners and subscribers. I hope to please you for many episodes to come. THANK YOU.  Lamay and Reese | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

This week I am featuring LaMay Reese of Kentucky USA. This duo not only sings the old time standards they write music that sounds just like it is 100 years old. Listening, is easy for even the most discerning Bluegrass traditionalist. I feel so fortunate to be able to feature this music. If you know old time standards, enjoy this “retro” compilation. If you are new to American traditional music, enjoy the sounds of the REAL thing. To read more about LaMay and Reese check out their website http://www.lamay.com/lamayreese/bio.htm.  You can also purchase all of their music there.  Here is the Playlist: Cumberland Rose Cumberland Rose Lonesome Valley Broken Hearted Lover Make Them Chickens Fly In His Arms I'm Not Afraid Mama, Put Down That Picture The Dying Soldier Marbletown Fireball Mail The Old Man Has Gone Heavenward Bound When The Fields Are White With Daisies Little Darling Pal Of Mine Little Old Church I Got a Friend There I've Got a Friend There White Oak On the Hill Hello Central, Give me Heaven Thank You for listening to my Podcast.
