And so, the 2016 Major League Baseball season comes to an end, and a long winter awaits. I'm at the Bourbon Street Distillery on Indianapolis Ave. Come on down and we'll have one last beer at a ballgame. #GOCUBS
I HAVE VOTED, and while it was a struggle...I've made the most adult decision...despite my better judgement. I didn't vote for this person because I LIKED them, I did it because I love my country. Sorry Jill.
While watching the 3rd Presidential Debate (and getting increasingly more angry) I discovered an amazing feature that is built into all TV sets! Like you, I can't wait for this election to be over.
Just for fun I'm going to do something never attempted on a podcast before. I'm going to VOTE on the four Massachusetts Ballot Questions, "live" on this episode. Excited? No? Listen in.
I'm talking polling, science and the importance of voting. What I'm NOT doing is getting angry about it.
Baseball, my family and my family’s health. That’s what’s going on with me right now. Go Sox.
With the end of Autumn and Labor Day Weekend, the Summer of 2016 is coming to an end. For me, summer is measured in baseball games and books I’ve read.
My idea to use a podcast and social networking to have a reasonable argument regarding politics has lead to me to change the way I use social media. Suffice it to say that “Facebook isn’t good for me”.
Donald Trump is the worst candidate running for President of the United States in modern times. He is an embarrassment, a fool and is unqualified for the position. In this episode of Intervals, I’ll begin talk about some of his plans for my country, and why each and every thing he has offered to perform is “#TrumpDumb” I stand by everything I said in this podcast. CAN a wall be built? Yes. SHOULD a wall be built? No. Now is not the time to make a statement with your vote. We cannot live in a TrumpDumb. You have to vote for Hillary.
The "Democratic National Convention" is almost over, and today I’m going to give you my opinion of the platform, which for the most part I agree with. I stand by everything I said in this podcast. “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” - Edmund Burke
The Republican National Convention is over, and they have proven themselves to be less of a “party” than a gathering of frightened whiney little bitches. That said, here’s what they have published as their platform: HATE, FEAR and LOATHING. I stand by everything I say in this podcast. First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me. Martin Niemöller (1892–1984)
I am a huge fan of the author and neuroscientist, Sam Harris. I don’t agree with everything he has to say, but I do feel that much of what he talks about is truthful and genius. He and I agree on the fact that Hillary isn’t someone we WANT to vote for, but she is someone we MUST vote for. Of the two major political party candidates, she is the only person qualified to be President….even and especially if you don’t like her. https://www.samharris.org/
“If we take away guns, only criminals will have guns” is an example of using the logical fallacy “Ignoratio elenchi” ignoring the lethality of guns. “Gun control doesn’t reduce gun crime” is not an argument that can be made since there are no significant studies to prove or disprove it. And ““The real question that needs to be addressed is not what we do about guns, but what we do to make our schools safer.” is NOT THE REAL QUESTION, but a “Red Herring” misdirecting the focus of the debate to something other than gun control. These are the weak arguments of an evil organization: the National Rifle Association, who continually demonstrates a fear and loathing for humanity and enables criminals every day.
A new episode of Phedippidations will be published this weekend; it’s part 2 of a 3 part series on Global Climate Change…and in this one, I get a little bit angry.
Mark Parenteau has passed away. He was a good guy and a legend in radio. His passing reminds me that I played a very small but important part in the “digital age” of radio. and it’s somehow fitting that I can tell you this story on a podcast.
