With hunting season closing in fast, it's time to talk about some of the things every archer must include in his or her preseason checklist. Today we are going to start with the archery tackle. It never fails... I always forget about something I want to talk about when I sit down to record the podcast. I forgot to thank everyone who gave feedback through email, iTunes and even the new call in number! I REALLY appreciated the input. Also, I realized that we are missing a potentially major component to a complete food plot and that is water. So, I decided to do a quick episode on a few ideas of how to get water into that food plot.

This week we discuss options for your spring time plot. Summer feeding food plots are different than the attractant plots we crave in the fall. As such, your choice of seeds differ also. Depending on your location for your honey hole, different varieties of plants will thrive better than others. I run through a list of common early season food plot plant varieties and explain which ones perform better under which conditions. ... now go get some seed and get that plot started... I decided to take some time this week to just talk about what's going on. I spend some time talking about updates to the show including the new site, the new Facebook page and when I plan on making the switch. Next is an update on the food plot. Things have been slow due to the lack of rain but they are picking up now. Fishing is also on the menu as the bass season is getting started. Turkey hunting has to be talked about since youth weekend was this weekend and the season starts May 1st. I stink at turkey hunting so the chat isn't very informative. There is NOTHING like the spring spawning run of the Striped Bass (except for maybe the fall bass run :-) ). These monster fish can reach 125 lbs in it's 30+ year life span with common catches in the 30-50lb range. In this episode, I share just about everything I know about this prized game fish... Let me start by saying that I was a bit off on this episode. I never pretend to be an expert at this podcasting thing but today I felt like I just started yesterday.
