In this episode of Paranormal Underground Radio: In The Dark, we talk with Dan LaFave, founder of Graveyard Shift Paranormal Investigations. Dan has had a lifelong paranormal interest due to experiences that have encompassed the past 48 years of his life.  Nearly 20 years ago, Dan took a deeply rooted research interest in wanting to investigate and find out a lot more about the paranormal. He wanted to find out the questions of who, what, where, and how regarding the paranormal. He began investigating documented haunted locations to gather more evidence in trying to answer those questions. Over the years, he became the lead investigator on three Texas paranormal teams, as well as being the team manager of a TAPS (the Ghost Hunters franchise) family member team based out of San Antonio, Texas.  In 2008, Dan and his wife, Connie, decided to found and form their own investigative research group/team, called Graveyard Shift Paranormal Investigations, which first was based in South Texas but now is based in West Texas. Dan and Connie are also former military veterans who bring a lot of experience from the military into what they do together regarding the paranormal. They together have conducted numerous paranormal investigations across Texas in homes, businesses, abandoned hospitals, Texas ghost towns, and various Texas historical locations. They have worked side by side with Texas historical associations in helping to raise restoration money and awareness toward many very interesting locations highly rumored to be haunted.  Dan also is an author and has two paranormal books called Shadow of the Ghost Hunter and The Supernatural, Texas, and the Old West, which are available for sale on Amazon. Don was a devout skeptic, even going so far as to doubt his own grandmother’s claims of experiences in a haunted house. But after encountering the unexplained many times, he reluctantly concluded he indeed has experienced the paranormal. Eventually, after what Don described as a mind-blowing paranormal encounter at Gettysburg, Pa., he could contain his curiosity no longer. He decided to write about his experiences, and to go a step further – to share the science behind what he has encountered. Don is a lifelong resident of Williams County, Ohio, where the historic home he shares with his wife, Diane, is located. A 1976 graduate of Stryker High School, he earned a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the University of Toledo in 1980. As a high school student in the early 1970s, Don got his start in journalism as a sports writer and photographer with the weekly Advance Reporter newspaper, now known as the Village Reporter. He joined The Bryan Times as county editor in 1981, where he later served as editor and currently is senior editor. He has received numerous Associated Press and United Press International awards for his news, feature, and column writing. Drawing on knowledge gained from a lifetime of studying the Civil War, Don has written extensively about that conflict.
