 Down To The River To Pray | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:03:08

Alison Krauss made this song quite popular in the 2000 Coen brothers' film “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? where the lyrics were changed to “as I went down to the River to pray.” This was done, presumably, to adjust to the fact the scene was filmed next to a river, not a valley.  This old Black spiritual was first collected in 1867 in a book entitled Slave Songs of the United States. Although the lyrics were apparently from slave sources the title may have been borrowed from “The Good Old Way,” which was written and published in 1835 by the famed composer William Walker. (Source of information for the song is from The Bluegrass Gospel Songbook by Wayne Erbsen) Our version of this song has two guitars and a fiddle, as well as vocals.  Our version of this song retains the original lyrics, (except in one verse). Blessings, Shiloh Worship Music "Down To The River To Pray" originally called “"Down To The Valley To Pray" or “The Good Old Way” As I went down in the Valley to pray Studying about that good ol' way And who shall wear the starry crown?  I Have Decided To Follow Jesus | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:03:01

Our Bluegrass Version of "I Have Decided to Follow Jesus" It is a Christian hymn originating from India. The lyrics are based on the last words of a man in Assam, north-east India, who along with his family was converted to Christianity in the middle of the 19th century through the efforts of a Welsh missionary. Called to renounce his faith by the village chief, the convert declared, "I have decided to follow Jesus." In response to threats to his family, he continued, "Though no one joins me, still I will follow." His wife was killed, and he was executed while singing, "The cross before me, the world behind me." This display of faith is reported to have led to the conversion of the chief and others in the village.[1] The formation of these words into a hymn is attributed to the Indian missionary Sadhu Sundar Singh.[2] The melody is also Indian, and entitled "Assam" after the region where the text originated.[3] The fierce opposition is possible as various tribes in that area were formerly renowned for head-hunting.[4] An American hymn editor, William Jensen Reynolds, composed an arrangement which was included in the 1959 Assembly Songbook. His version became a regular feature of Billy Graham's evangelistic meetings in America and elsewhere, spreading its popularity.[5] http://en.wikipedia.org Folk Melody from India. Public Domain. Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus Words: Louisa Stead Music: William Kirkpatrick 1. ’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
Just to know “Thus saith the Lord!” Refrain: Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more! 2. O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
Just in simple faith to plunge me
’Neath the healing, cleansing flood!
(Refrain) 3. Yes ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.
(Refrain) 4. I’m so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.

 Crown Him with Many Crowns | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:04:27

1. Crown him with many crowns, the Lamb upon his throne, Hark! how the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own. Awake, my soul, and sing of him who died for thee, and hail him as thy matchless King through all eternity. 2. Crown him the Lord of life, who triumphed o'er the grave, and rose victorious in the strife for those he came to save. His glories now we sing, who died, and rose on high, who died, eternal life to bring, and lives that death may die. 3. Crown him the Lord of peace, whose power a scepter sways from pole to pole, that wars may cease, and all be prayer and praise. His reign shall know no end, and round his pierced feet fair flowers of paradise extend their fragrance ever sweet. 4. Crown him the Lord of love; behold his hands and side, those wounds, yet visible above, in beauty glorified. All hail, Redeemer, hail! For thou hast died for me; thy praise and glory shall not fail throughout eternity. All the saints adore thee, casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea; cherubim and seraphim falling down before thee, which wert, and art, and evermore shalt be. 3. Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide thee, though the eye of sinful man thy glory may not see, only thou art holy; there is none beside thee, perfect in power, in love and purity. 4. Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! All thy works shall praise thy name, in earth and sky and sea. Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty, God in three persons, blessed Trinity.  Jesus, You're Everything to Me | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:03:41

This song is a Bluegrass song that I wrote. I tried to keep all of the instrumentation as authentically Bluegrass as possible, with the exception of the train beat. Purists will note Traditional Bluegrass music does not have drums. Bluegrass music is distinctly American with its roots in the Scots-Irish immigrants that came to America. And, Bluegrass Gospel Music has a long history and tradition here in America. When I first met Jesus this is the style of Bluegrass Jesus music some of the Jesus People played- bluegrass reminds me of my first Love for Jesus! I really worked on my fiddle solo- only played fiddle now for 4 years- hope it is ok! I Love You, Jesus, For What You've Done When You Died Upon That Tree You Washed Away The Stain of Sin When You Died On Calvary! Oh, How We Will Praise You When We See You On Your Throne, O God I Will Rejoice in My Savior Because Jesus, You're Everything to Me! I Love You Father, for Giving Your Son Sacrificed for Me For He Took My Burdens And He Bore  My Pains And His Blood Brings the Victory We Praise You Spirit For the Work You've Done Your Grace That Is in Work In Me You Took A Sinner And You Made Him a Saint By Your Grace I'll Live for Eternity There's Living Water For All Those That Thirst So Come to Jesus Now! Well, He'll Heal Your Body And He'll Save Your Soul And You'll Live For Eternity © 2011 Shiloh Worship Music COPY FREELY;This Music is copyrighted to prevent misuse, however,permission is granted for non-commercial copying only.

 "My Jesus I Love Thee" | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:03:00

16 years old William Ralph Featherston wrote "My Jesus I Love Thee" as a poem in 1864. Later on, in 1876 Adoniram Gordon added music to it "My Jesus I Love Thee" My Jesus, I love Thee, I know Thou art mine;
For Thee all the follies of sin I resign.
My gracious Redeemer, my Savior art Thou;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now. I love Thee because Thou has first loved me,
And purchased my pardon on Calvary’s tree.
I love Thee for wearing the thorns on Thy brow;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now. I’ll love Thee in life, I will love Thee in death,
And praise Thee as long as Thou lendest me breath;
And say when the death dew lies cold on my brow,
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now. In mansions of glory and endless delight,
I’ll ever adore Thee in heaven so bright;
I’ll sing with the glittering crown on my brow;
If ever I loved Thee, my Jesus, ’tis now. Life Gordon was born in New Hampton, New Hampshire, on April 19, 1836. His father, Baptist deaconJohn Calvin Gordon, was a Calvinist named after John Calvin. His mother was Sally Robinson Gordon. A.J. was named after Adoniram Judson, a Baptist missionary to Burma who had recently completed a Burmese translation of the Bible.[1] Gordon experienced a Christian conversion at age 15 and thereafter sought to become a pastor. He graduated from Brown University (then a Baptist affiliated school) in 1860 and Newton Theological Institution in 1863. In 1863, he married Maria Hale and became pastor of Jamaica Plain Baptist Church in Roxbury, Massachusetts. In 1869, he became pastor of Clarendon Street Baptist Church in Boston, a fairly affluent church. Under Gordon's leadership, Clarendon Street Church was described as "one of the most spiritual and aggressive in America". The church is no longer in operation. Gordon became a favored speaker in evangelist Dwight L. Moody's Northfield conventions.[2] Every summer Gordon returned to his hometown in New Hampshire and often preached at the Dana Meeting House.[3] Gordon became suddenly ill with influenza and bronchitis and died at age 59 on February 2, 1895. He is buried in Forest Hills Cemetery.[4] A son, Ernest Barron Gordon, published a biography of his father in 1896, titled Adoniram Judson Gordon, a Biography with Letters and Illustrative Extracts Drawn from Unpublished or Uncollected Sermons and Addresses, which is still in print.[5] College In 1889, with the help and backing of Clarendon Street Church, he founded Gordon Bible Institute and served as its first president.[6] His wife, Maria, was secretary and treasurer until 1908. Gordon's school was founded primarily to train missionaries for work in the Congo. Writings and teachings Gordon edited two hymn books and wrote the hymn tunes for at least fifteen hymns, including "My Jesus, I Love Thee," a hymn that has been included in nearly every evangelical hymnal published from 1876 to the present time.[7] In his book The Ministry of the Holy Spi
