The fourth-generation Apple TV does not feature the optical output port that was available on previous models. So, if you previously used that to stream audio to a stereo receiver, you may want to consider this workaround. As David Woodbridge demonstrates, this uses AirPlay to stream audio from your new Apple TV to your old one, and then having that connected to your stereo as before. It’s somewhat ‘clunky’, but does work.
