There’s a magic and a power to describing what is in a space that doesn’t expect anything — a space of open acceptance that is really resonating that frequency of freedom that you already are. Describing what is lifts the veil, burns off the fog, and awareness naturally shines through.
It helps to have the perspective of the big heart, the space of unconditional acceptance we all have within us. Because as we heal, deeply, we naturally transform, we naturally awaken. We naturally become free. We naturally find the newness of this moment — right here, right now.
We’re always celebrating the birth of the light. Find this light — this light that is what you are — and really enjoy its radiance.
When we’re not held back, not stuck in our belief structures, we can move into the realm of now, which is constant discovery — a creative, intelligent realm. You can feel it, this openness, expansiveness, spaciousness. And when that becomes available, how do you give that your attention? I sometimes talk about generosity. Generosity means...
Awakening is a natural force, and being here is an opportunity, an invitation to allow that force to work through you; and to transform your essential sense of who you are from a limited identity in time and space, to literally being space, being openness.
Appreciation is a profound act of generosity. We give of ourselves by appreciating, we open ourselves up. The more we give, the more we receive. And when we give completely, we receive fully. ~ Recorded 10/11/2014 in Tiburon
How can we become sensitive enough to perceive the deep guidance within? How can we become clear enough, and out of the way enough, that the message can come through?
This week Jon returns to discuss his ongoing recovery from surgery, and reminds us that "the more you open to the deeper presence that you are, the more you can just be here with whatever’s happening — with whatever needs your attention, your loving tenderness and care."
As we open and awaken, we really realize our connectedness — not as a concept, but as an experiential presence, an intimacy of being right here, right now. In that realm of unity, our heart can open deeply, profoundly, vastly. Our Big Heart, the heart of unconditional compassion and love, can heal our human heart of all its wounds.
Listen into the silence; listen and observe from the heart. More is revealed all the time. Eventually we find ourselves profoundly lucky to be fascinated and delighted by the ordinary.
Awakening is the moment when who you’ve taken yourself to be — this person, this identity — shifts from the form to the space, to the emptiness. It’s a shift in orientation to openness rather than closedness; to not knowing rather than knowing. Simply put, awakening is being opening. It’s a movement of energy, of availability, of receptivity — of transmission.
The path of least resistance is not necessarily easy. We cease to turn away from what’s difficult, and learn to turn towards it instead, with the fullness of heart and the tenderness of body that vulnerability requires.
We may think awakening is the end of the road, but it's actually the beginning; and the middle; and the end. And the journey of this life, this temporal, changing life, happens within that vastness.
Eventually we really understand what it means to surrender. It doesn’t mean giving up; it means letting go of controlling. The bird doesn’t control the wind, but it can fly. It’s one with the wind. And we’re one with awareness.
When all drops away, there’s just this; and you realize oneness. It is revealed, instantly, to be how it is. It literally is light emanating. It’s kind of cool, really, to be the light. To let radiance emanate infinitely. To be the radiance of aliveness.
