During the month of February, US Citizenship Podcast explores the connection between the African American History and the USCIS Citizenship Interview. This mock Citizenship interview was inspired by “Holding the Bag," a high beginning ESL novel about an Ethiopian-American cab driver in Washington DC. After the interview, I will talk a little bit more about "Holding the Bag," contacting our federal representatives, and our resources for African American History Month.
This week, I am joined by my fellow citizenship teacher, Miguel Flores from Cutler-Orosi Adult School. We finally met in person at the CASAS EL Civics Conference in Ceres. Between workshop sessions we sat down and did a quick practice interview based on the Mix-and-Match Citizenship Interview Series B Practice 2 paired with a multiple choice civics quiz on USCIS 1-12 questions.

Discussion about the citizenship application (N-400) and the fee waiver (I-912) and fee reduction (I-942) forms.
Applicants can file Form N-400, Application for Naturalization online through their USCIS online account. When they use the interactive Form N-400, applicants will see questions, alerts, and notifications specific to the answers they provide while completing the form. Applicants will also see prompts and reminders to upload required evidence. This means each person follows a personalized path for completing the form based on the information that they provide.
