The overnight markets were all trending higher based on yesterday's surprise employment and service sector growth in the US, and optimism that Spain will shortly ask for bailout assistance from the European Central Bank. With the Bank of Japan announcing its own stimulus plan for the Japanese economy, it appears that the world's central banks are in synch on what they feel is collectively necessary to encourage growth in the global economy. This, combined with positive housing data in the US, promised to give us some nice opportunities to trade today's markets.
