  This week we discuss our first official Dungeon Face Off, as well as a few other things.  But really, what's more exciting then our FIRST OFFICIAL DUNGEON FACE OFF!!! (last week’s update) Chris Short break between episodes as we get into the swing of things again, so not much new since the last show. Our first Dungeon Face Off went really well. It was tons of fun! Rogue still stuck at 45, but he’s calling out to me.... “Play Bardazar........” I hear softly in the distance. Ran Foul Cascade and had sooo much fun! Always nice to bring guildies through an instance for the first time. Following the same line as SWTOR did with the “increased server tech means our servers can handle more people”. Not sure if I buy it, or if the merge is because of reduced population. Some side-effects: PUG with people who speak different languages.  This week we talk about how Patch 1.9 is going, and all we've experienced since it launched! Listen Now: What we did this week: Sallennia DH with some new to 50 Guild mates MDD...first boss only A few Expert Dungeons Took a new guild mate, Drezzden, on a tour of Ember Isle, getting Ports and did an Onslaught Worked on crafting a bit for the first time in FOREVER Got my Rogue up a level, and got her some new gear. 4 manned Reg FOLH with Chris rogue, I’m the only one who didn’t mentor down, and healed. Oh, and I FINALLY got my hair fixed! Squashed bugs, but the rest of the summer fest quests involved Fishing/Survival which I’m not doing.  Have not done the scavenger hunt yet though. Chris Drowned Halls - Interesting run. Not completed, but fun. MDD - Darn timing, i.e. other runs! Ran some guildies around and had some fun. Rogue is level 45 now! Last few level have almost strictly been through IA, with a Runic Descent run thrown in for good measure. Conquest - We’ll talk about that later. Bag Auto-Sort - YES! Instant Adventure expands: First two zones (Freemarch and Stonefield for Defiant, Silverwood and Gloamwood for Guardians). Auto-leveling for this is a great idea. Barbershop Summerfest - Not really impressed with this one. Fairly boring, and I can’t get the Courage quest (stand in the spotlight) to work! Chat Channels - Level 50 hell. * PRIMEVAL FEAST is a new 50-player Sliver featuring Fae Lord Twyl and his plans for Lord Greenscale. Conquest http://forums.riftgame.com/rift-general-discussions/pvp-warfronts/322525-conquest-cooldown-2.html Note: We’ll be having Elrar on the show next week to talk about some of the issues that Conquest has been having, and some of the fixes they have/will implement. Biggest concern so far seems to be the LONG cooldown, generally 2 hrs. Problems with Factions being unbalanced, 2 picking on 1 sort of thing, as well as not being able to get in. Rift S.O.S. Some tips for getting your Instant Adventure on: 1) Clear your bags first. You’re going to get A LOT of crap, so make sure that you have the space for it. 2) Heal your soul. Duh. 3) Have some potions handy, as you never know what the group composition is going to be like, and you might not have a healer. 4) Level 44 and below will Mentor you down for IA in the first two zones for your faction. Level 45 and above will keep you at your level, in Stillmore and Shimmersands, and have you fighting level 48-50 mobs (usually 50). 5) IA is a great way to get mats for crafting. Make sure to skin/gather everything around you. 6) Keep an eye out for sparklies! Typefrag - The leader in online voice communication. I like the idea of being able to instant adventure in any zone and still get my ISS and PA experience clickies as rewards. I like that when you mentor down you still have all your abilities. When you go back to level 50 you have very little health, especially if you're not at full health when you go back to 50 you almost die high level quests in the quest tracker turn red when you mentor down but they stay red when you go back to 50. -also worth noting: pests are OP right now, PA seems to be the only loot worth using if you are level 50, total max health when levelled back up to 50 is the most common complaint - so at 50, you are close to death when you go back up. Seals With Patch 1.8 we saw the introduction of seals on our character sheets.  Seals are a crafted item that adds stat bonuses that are role specific. For a run down on all the available recipes, and what ingredients are needed, go to Rift Nerd at http://riftnerd.com/guides/crafting/seal-recipe-ingredients/ There are three levels of seals, adding 19, 25 or 33 bonus stats. The 19 bonus stat recipes require 225 Artisan Marks, the 25 bonus stat recipes require 3 Master Craftsman Marks, and the 33 Bonus Stat recipes require 8 Master Craftsman Marks. You can get bonuses to Wisdom Intelligence Dexterity Strength Endurance The +33 stat bonus seal requires ‘Unstable Catalyst’ which you can get with 50 Greater Marks of Ascension from the Hammerknell Raid Merchant, or as drops from within Hammerknell.  Goes on the AH for about 155 Plat. There will be a default setting, and the system has a variety of settings that will allow you to customize it to your heart's content. The options also allow for you to turn the system off entirely. This week we talk patch 1.8, some of the new features, what we think of them, and what we have experienced so far. What we did in game: Sallennia Rifts and Invasions in Ember Isle to collect Molten Ingots, right before the event changed.  Didn’t quite get enough for my planar essence. Drunk rifting night, fire and earth and crafting rifts in Stillmore, and Shimmersand World event dailies in an effort to get Nebula!  Goodbye Molten Ingots! World Event: Nebula and Spindrel : See the Spirit Indiran in Meridian at the event grounds. 2 Crystalline Rage each In order to get 2 rage’s you need to complete daily quests.  The repeatable quest “Victory begins at Home” asks you to complete 8 of the Manton Maw Daily quests to receive 1 Crystalline Rage. You seem to be able to get 3 of the dailies per day to count towards the 8, but don’t quote me on that.  The dailies are things like, augment wardstones, defeat rift creatures that grant experience, defeat a foothold using such and such skill, close major rifts to collect orders, as well as turning in 500 Molten Gold Ingots. (Yes, they are still useful and can also be used to buy planar essence etc) New companion/pet models on PTS http://www.riftjunkies.com/2012/04/16/new-models-for-fluffy-tinkerbell-and-babe/ Noteworthy after patch 1.8 Chronicles now have daily quests from the same place you get daily rift and raid quests.  (Raj in Meridian Planar college) They have added a greater variety of loading screens for higher level characters travelling to Meridian and Sanctum.  (can we please get a new loading screen for entering the game, getting really tired of looking at Alsbeth!) Looking For Group tool changes: When your party signs up for a LFG, the tool takes a ‘snapshot’ of the group.  The group can then break up, add members, join raids or dungeons, or IA all without being dumped from the LFG tool.  When the queue is ready, the original group who signed up will all get the message to join.  So when it’s a slow night, you can continue on with other things, and still join together with your prefered friends to run your dungeon etc. LEADERBOARDS (From Ter‘Rift’ic) http://www.rift.rpgparadise.com/rift-articles/previews/197-rift-leaderboard-preview-rift-18 Summary lists.  Everyone is placed in a category ie: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond.
