The Art Directors Guild recently announced a stepped up effort to represent previs artists and that they are now seeking to represent artists doing matte paintings. This announcement raised some eyebrows among visual effects people who see this as a routine part of visual effects. We spoke previously with Tom Walsh in April 2010. That podcast covered a lot of the main questions one would have about unions and the history of the Art Directors Guild. If you'd like to catch up on that one you can find it here: www.fxguide.com/quicktakes/fxpodcast-with-tom-walsh-president-of-the-art-directors-guild/.
