My God. My wife and children. My Friends My country and the freedoms it gives me. Music. A place like Walt Disney World where I can go escape from reality and surround myself with pure joy and happy memories. Listeners and friends like you that also love to talk and share your Disney magic wherever you are. Thanksgiving is special in its own way and should not be missed I think. One more thing I’m thankful for are the Cast Members in the parks. Today we’re going to take down the curtain a bit and get to see some of the work that goes into creating a show. I need an escape, how about you? It just seems like these past couple of weeks have been brutal, both at work and in the world in general. I want to escape to a happy place, and what better than a vacation in the happiest place on earth Walt Disney World. One of my favorite things to do while visiting the parks is to watch Fireworks. Every trip I take now to the parks ends with Fireworks if possible. If the park I’m in doesn’t have fireworks that evening, I’ll park hop somewhere just to be able to see fireworks. .

Ok, fall is officially here. The leaves are changing to beautiful colors here in Kentucky, the heater is on in the house, and the World Series of Baseball has begun. Yeah, my Orioles didn’t make the post season, but this is still top quality baseball that is worth watching, even if you’re daydreaming about being in Walt Disney World. Sometimes when I daydream about being back in the Magic Kingdom, I’ll revisit those memories of attractions that were retired, attractions like The Legend of The Lion King, which used to run in the Fantasyland Theater. You know, the place where Mickey’s Philharmagic now lives? So right now, I don’t have a request I can fulfill (hint hint: great time to send your request in), so I got to choose. So I started going back through my older recordings to see what I might not have shared at all yet and I came across Legend of The Lion King. .

Today's memory is a trip report special. On September 4, my family and I took a day of our vacation in Clearwater, and drove over to Orlando to visit Mickey Mouse in the the Magic Kingdom. This is our first trip to Walt Disney World with just the 4 of us, so we were curious how things would turn out. Well we had a blast (would you expect anything less than that at Walt Disney World). .

It’s here. My summer vacation. As of the time of this recording I’m packing up and preparing to leave tomorrow for my week in Florida. And good news, we’ll be taking a break from the beach, and spending a day at Walt Disney World. Of course, you know what that means, more audio for me to share with you. Based on our preliminary plans too, it’s probably all going to be from the Magic Kingdom, but that’s not so bad since there’s all this new Fantasyland stuff to explore. I’m going to just start my recorder from the time we get inside the perimeter, and let it run till the time we leave it. This also means a new audio trip report on my return, so keep an ear out for that later. Hey, and if you’re going to be in the Magic Kingdom August 3-5 (we’re leaning towards the 4th, but still not sure which day) send me an email, text or call the voicemail line, or just keep an eye out for me (I’ll have my WDW-Memories shirt on). This is a continuation of Brandon’s voicemail requests in Memory 101 - Beauty and the Beast-Live on Stage, and sadly my last one I’ll be able to fulfill for now. Today we’re going to return to a now extinct attraction, and catch a showing of Journey into Narnia: Creating The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. .

Memory 101, it’s like the new Millenium. I guess technically this would be 100 memories, since Memory 001 only told a background and didn’t share anything. But then there’s the 12 or so Christmas Specials I have released, so really this would be like 112 memories... carry the one... Never mind. We’ll just call it 101. And it’s a great show that I’ve been waiting for someone to request for a while. Disney’s Hollywood Studios has shown Beauty and the Beast-Live on Stage, for decades now. And I personally think it is probably the best stage show in all of Walt Disney World. .

I can’t believe I’ve actually reached this milestone. I feel like there should be a trumpet fanfare or something . By the way, that was a hint. That’s right, we’re doing more Future Corps, and you can thank Paul Barrie and Magic Joe from the Window to the Magic podcast for that. I got started in a twitter conversation with the both of them on April 8 and they mentioned they would love to hear everything else I have on Future Corps, so I thought about it, and I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate 100 episodes than to go back to where it all started. .

Yep, I’ve been thinking about Memory 100 for a little while now and Paul and Magic Joe from Window to the Magic have given me an idea of what I’ll do. But you’ll just have to tune in next time to find out what it is. For today though, I was inspired by all the news about SpectroMagic. If you haven’t heard, the scuttlebutt on the internet is that they have recently destroyed various SpectroMagic parade floats, taking away any opportunity for the return of this parade in the future. This saddens me greatly as I loved this nighttime parade, possibly even more than the Main Street Electrical Parade. To me, the music is better, and I loved the little guys with the white faces. Other then that, I guess they’re really the same parade right? .

I can’t believe it’s July already. By the time this comes out, we will have celebrated our Independence Day here in the United States, and are now looking at upcoming summer vacations. Me, I’m not traveling again, not till the unofficial end of summer in September, but that’s fine with me. I’ve had 3 road trips over the last 4 weekends and I’m content to have a nice quiet weekend at home with the family right now. In September though, we’re planning our annual pilgrimage to Florida to spend time with our family and go to the beach in Clearwater. And if you’re in Florida, why would you not also go to Walt Disney World right? That’s right, we’re going to try to get over to Orlando for a day (maybe 2) and have some fun with the kids. I can’t wait to see how different it will be with our kids this time. Each time we go, they’re a little older, and understand the stories a little more. Stories such as the one we’re featuring in today’s memory. Today we’re going to catch a showing of Voyage of The Little Mermaid in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. .

I don’t know about you, but I need an escape. My reality is becoming more stressful. A very good friend of mine just lost his battle with Cancer, the requirements of my new job are taking their toll on me, and a summer trip seems so far away. Thankfully we can escape with the simple use of our Memories to a place we all love. Today we’ll once again escape to Walt Disney World  and this time to another place to escape reality is the Movies, but more specifically a movie set. Today we’re going to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to take the Studio Backlot Tour. .
