 #105 - Crescent Lake | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 47:16

Thanks for downloading WEDWay Radio a show about Disney history, Disney parks and touring. This is episode #105 - Crescent Lake. When Walt Disney World opened in 1971 the company knew that they needed to offer fantastically themed resorts for guests to stay.  Most would associate the Grand Floridian, The Contemporary and the Polynesian as the "name" Walt Disney World resorts. However, this past year the Crescent Lake resort area (or the Epcot resorts) marked its 20th year of existence.   In this episode we explore the story of how the Swan and Dolphin came to be apart of Walt Disney World as well as the other three resorts; The Yacht Club and Beach Club as well as The Boardwalk and our favorite places to go within the resort area.  WEDWay Radio #103 - One Great Year | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:04:31

On this episode of WEDWay Radio Matt and Nate take a stab at a year in review show. However, we can't just do a normal Year in Review show.  Thats not our style.  Its probably a subject that fits Wedway NOW!. Instead we decided to do a Year in Review Show about an important year in Disney history - 1983. Thats right, 1983 was an important year in that it was important for the theme parks, the movie division, innovation and the stability of the company. This was a year in which we saw the emergence of the Disney Channel, new attractions like Horizons and Journey into Imagination debuted at Epcot.  Fantasyland in Disneyland reopened with new authentic looking fairy tale theme. It was also a year in which Disney launch laser disc's (No Carousel of Progress jokes please), 16mm educational films.  Tokyo Disneyland opened as well. Enjoy this twist on a Year in Review Show.

WEDWay Radio #102 - Disney Tour of America | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 55:00

On this episode of WEDWay Radio we take a look at some of the "other" Disney sites around the country that may tell the story of Walt Disney and the Disney company as well.    In the last thirty years Disneyland has become not only the worlds premier theme park, but a place filled with nostalgia.  It appreciates its past while moving forward with newer and more innovative attractions.  Several years after Walt Disney passed away the company began to dedicate space to preserving the legacy of not only the park, but of the man himself.  'The Legacy of Walt Disney' sat at the end of Main Street and the Walt Disney story ran in the Opera House.   And, about ten years ago, Walt Disney World began a similar practice.  While it had run the Walt Disney Story in its Exposition Center, it hadn't really been a monument to Walt Disney or to the company until 2001 when One Mans Dream, the then temporary exhibit to showcase the 100 years of Magic campaign for Walt Disneys 100th birthday. At some point you have probably considered the circumstances for the major advancements in the life of Walt Disney and of the company. On this episode we take a look at some of these historical sites, including: Marceline, MO Los Angeles and the many homes and studios of Disney Griffith Park and Walts Barn San Francisco for Walt Disney Family Museum Kansas City and the early landmarks  Enjoy this episode and Enjoy the holidays
