 Episode 54 – Competition and 40k: Part 1 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3:41:46

With the release of Episode 54 we begin our series of discussions around Competition and how it relates to Warhammer 40k. We seek to break down the argument that ‘Competitive’ play is either good or bad for the game, and look at how it impacts Warhammer 40k from a variety of perspectives. Obviously we will take some time to discuss Hobby Progress, and discuss our games played. Carl attended Kubla Con in Northern California and he talks about his worst performance at an event so far. Last but not least, we give our ‘Bang for Your Buck’ review of Imperial Armour: Model Masterclass Volume 2. Is the book worth buying? How does it stack up to Volume 1? We go in depth about it and discuss if it is worth your hard earned coin or not. Finally, we also talk about the first ever West Coast Podcast Alliance Goldent Ticket Event! Is this something you might be interested in? Find out at the end of the episode. We hope you enjoy!  Episode 53 – GW Worldwide Campaigns | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 03:42:14

Episode 53 has us talking about the Worldwide Campaigns that Games Workshop has run in the past. What were they about and how did they all play out? Then we talk about our Summer Campaign plans and beyond. Additionally, we have Zach with a new Rites of Battle segment, in which we explore some more fundamentals and see how they were applied or not applied in the Reece Robbins/Paul Murphy match up, during the second round finals at Adepticon this year. Finally we end the show and come back with our Forbidden Lore Segment on Rob Sanders “Legion of The Damned”! We have Rob with us as we discuss the entire book and what he was thinking as he was writing it. Maybe he will even give us some insight into what the Legion of The Damned are… We hope you enjoy what we think is a great, if not a bit long, episode!  Episode 52 – Return from Adepticon | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 3:43:05

We have returned from our Adepticon trip with loads of stories to tell and information to impart, which leads to an incredibly long episode! If you haven’t checked out our Adepticon video coverage you can find it under The Independent Characters Videos link at the top of the page in our UStream Channel. Not only will we disuss our hobby progress and games played leading up to Adepticon, but we will then go into details about the Adepticon 40k Friendly event, the Team Tournament that Zach and Geoff participated in, and the our coverage of the finals! To add to all of that, we have an interview with Black Library author Chris Wraight (Battle of The Fang, Wrath of Iron) AND Rob Sanders (Atlas Infernal, Legion of The Damned). The audio is slightly lower than intended in this episode as we are getting used to a new way to record the show, but we are nearly there! Our next epsiode should have perfect audio. Certainly we have made tremendous improvements recording from Skype – so for once Zach doesn’t sound like he is halfway across the galaxy! Due to a scheduling error with Rob Sanders, we have rescheduled our Forbidden Lore on Legion of The Damned to Episode 53, but don’t worry, he will be joining us for the entire thing! We can’t wait to hear what insight he has into this fantastic book!  Episode 51 – Incoming Adepticon! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:52:31

Adepticon preparation and expectations is the main topic of Episode 51 of The ICs. We will discuss exactly what we intend to bring, what our expectations are of the events we are joining, and also what YOU can expect if you are attending Adepticon for the first time! We also introduce our long-in-production strategy and tactics segment; Rites of Battle. This is largely developed by Zach and for this inaugural segment, we discuss the lexicon of terminology we are going to be using going forward. You won’t want to miss it. At last but certainly not least, we have our Hobby Progress updates! Did any of The IC’s actually succeed in The Hobby Progress Challenge? You will find out here. To cap it ALL off – we announce the winner and runner up of The Hobby Progress Challenge and exactly what they have won! Apologies for the delay of the episode, with all the rushing around prior to Adepticon, we have managed to cause ourselves technical and scheduling problems. Please expect us to be on track going forward.  Bonus Content – Da Grand Waaagh GT | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 48:00

We interview Dave Sackl, Dan Benevidez, and Chad Martens about Da Grand Waaagh GT being held in Alameda on Oct 2nd and 3rd. From their web site: http://www.dagrandwaaaghgt.com/ The battle will take place on the U.S.S. Hornet Museum in Alameda. The Aircraft Carrier USS HORNET Museum is a national treasure, having participated in two of the greatest events of the 20th century — World War II and the Apollo 11 manned space mission. Two fighter planes will block off our gaming tables. Not only are playing on a WW2 aircraft carrier with lots of history, we are supporting a non-profit organization. We are proud to announce that we will be a part of the Games Workshop 2010 Tournament Circuit! Check us out on Games Workshops website at http://www.games-workshop.com. The top two players in each game system will receive an invitation to play in the Games Workshop Vegas Finals in 2011. To ensure that we rent enough table space, we need all players to pay prior to our new September 1 deadline. Please register as soon as possible to ensure your inclusion to the tournament. Any players that wish to sign up after the deadline need to contact us at Dabigboss@dagrandwaaaghgt.com first before paying to ensure we have space available.
