As discussed during the show, this is the follow-up post for our conversation with Jon Hall about the new VCAP Certifications. There were not as many this time as is usual, however there have been more than plenty of follow-up and VCAP posts out in the community. I’ve tried to link in most of those as well: New VMware Certification Portal VMware VCAP portal VCAP DCA VCAP DCD VCDX4 (Changes) Scott Vessey’s Follow-up Eric Sloof’s Follow-up Duncan Epping’s VCDX 4 Post Maish Saidel-Keesing Follow-Up VCDX4 Upgrade Path If you’ve posted a follow-up and I’ve left you out, let me know in the comments and I’ll get the post updated. Thanks again for joining the call, and thanks to TrainSignal for making this possible.

We had a good time this call. You’ll be able to tell from the recording though that we are still very much armatures playing in this space. Outside a minor emergency and Tom having some audio difficulty, we had a great discussion around rapid provisioning ESX servers.

The show notes for this are more or less lost at this point. Whoops. That said, the video is online. This one felt more like teaching a class than a discussion around certification, but as awkward as that was for us to handle, I think we did “ok”. You tell me.

The show notes links, blatantly copied from Tom Howarth’s Site: Here are a couple of links relating to the show http://linux.about.com/library/cmd/blcmdl1_fuser.htm http://linux.about.com/library/cmd/blcmdl1_last.htm http://linux.about.com/library/cmd/blcmdl1_w.htm http://linux.about.com/library/cmd/blcmdl1_who.htm http://linux.about.com/od/commands/l/blcmdl1_dd.htm One thing to note is that even the so called experts can and do get it wrong we all agreed the w is an alias of who but as the above link shows that is not the case LOL As always, thanks to Trainsignal for making this happen.

 BrownBag - #4 - VCDX Performance | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: 50:56

Well, this took quite a bit of time to get posted. I blame solar flares! I also blame the solar flares for the missing show-notes this week. Whoops! Hope you enjoy the video, and as always, thanks to TrainSignal for making this possible.

 BrownBag - #5 - VCP Open Topic | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: 43:39

We had an excellent turn out this time, and hope to see some more folk continue to join us. In addition to the illustrious Tom Howarth of PlanetVM.net, we also had Jason Boche of Boche.net, who has become a regular at these. A great thanks goes out to both of these folks, as well as everyone else who joined the call.

 BrownBag - #2 - VCDX | File Type: video/mp4 | Duration: 54:55

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s call, and subsequent "lab fail” we’ve got today’s follow-up post. The topic we covered was storage, however that didn’t stop us from rambling into other areas. First, the links: Virtualization Team Study Guide iSCSI Management from the CLI (JFVI) VMware Communities Study Guide Software iSCSI (that isn’t Openfiler) VMware DSA Course VMware Tips - Enterprise Admin Exam
