Don't forget to stop by ArabicPod101.com for more great Arabic Language Learning Resources! -------Lesson Dialog------- ----Formal ---- يوسف شاهين ولد يوسف شاهين في الخامسة والعشرون من يناير عام 1926،وهو مخرج سينيمائي مصري من أصول لبنانية و لكنه ولد و ترعرع في مصر فهو مصري الجنسية. بدأ حياته بالدراسة بمدرسة سان مارك ثم بعد ذلك إلتحق بإحدى الكليات الإنجليزية حتى حصل على الشهادة الثانوية المدرسية،و بعد سنة من الدراسة في جامعة الأسكندرية إنتقل يوسف شاهين إلى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية ليدرس صناعة الأفلام و الفنون الدرامية. ثم عاد يوسف شاهين إلى مصر ليبدأ حياته العملية حيث قام بصنع أول أفلامه عام 1950 . حصل يوسف شاهين على العديد من الجوائز العالمية و بذلك يعتبر يوسف شاهين من أكثر المخرجين العرب الذين حصلوا على جوائز عالمية ومثل لهذه الجوائز; * حصل على الجائزة الذهبية في مهرجان قرطاج عام 1970 عن فيلمه إبن النيل. * كما حصل على جائزة الدب الفضي في مهرجان برلين عن فيلمه إسكندرية ليه عام 1978. وقد أثارت أفلام يوسف شاهين جدلا كبيرا بسبب روحها النقدية وتعرضها لبعض القضايا الحساسة في المجتمع المصري. و أثناء مشواره إكتشف يوسف شاهين العديد من المواهب السينيمائية مثل عمر الشريف الممثل المصري المشهور و الذي يعد هو الآخر واحد من علامات السينيما المصرية. و بعد مشوار كبير مليء بالإنجازات و بعد صراع طويل مع المرض رحل عن عالمنا الفنان المبدع يوسف شاهين عن عمر يناهز 82 عاما أمتعنا خلالهم بفنه النادر. ----Formal English---- Youssef Shahine Youssef Shahine was born on January twenty-fifth in 1926, and he was an Egyptian director with Lebanese descent, but was born and raised in Egypt and had an Egyptian nationality. He began his study at St. Mark School and then joined an English college until he received a secondary school certificate. After a year of study at the University of Alexandria, Youssef Shahine moved to the United States to study filmmaking and dramatic arts. Youssef Shahine then returned to Egypt to begin his career where he made his first film in 1950. Youssef Shahine won many international awards and so we considered Youssef Shahine one of the best Arabian filmmakers who have received international awards and prizes such as; 1. He received a Golden Award at the Carthage Festival in 1970 for his film "The Son of the Nile." 2. He also received the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival for his film "Why Alexandria" in 1978. The films by Youssef Shahine have raised much controversy because of their criticism and exposure to certain sensitive issues in the Egyptian society. And during his career, Youssef Shahine discovered many talents such as Omar Al-Sharif, a famous Egyptian actor, and he is also one of the signs of the Egyptian cinema.
