We talked briefly about shaws potential plans with their upcoming service which is to go head to head against netflix, I get distracted by the tv on in the background and ryan briefly discusses the Canadian Television rating system. -jesse Weekly links Writing Movies for Fun and Profit: How We Made a Billion Dollars at the Box Office and You Can, Too! - Book by the writers of RENO 911 and a short list of terrible high grossing movies Todd and the book of Pure Evil - TV Show Chris Hopp - Some guy we know who sometimes wears a pancake on his head

Episode 13 – Some Mildly Informed UBB rambles | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:31:03

So, this time around we rambled a little loosely around UBB (Usage based billing), a CRTC ruling that was throw out earlier this year as it clearly kills the independent internet providers ability to compete with Rogers, Bell, Shaw and Telus. The involved parties are currently in discussions with the CRTC around new ways to charge for internet usage (fair and competitive ways). We'll have to wait and see what happens. We made quite a few suggestions as to how you can cut the cord... well not literllay. Some of you still subscribe to broadcast television, we go over the in short the services we currently use to get content (some are grey in legal means). I go over the "it's too much work" arugment that people use to avoid the superior online alternatives. -jesse Weekly links The Interplay Film Festival - They're still accepting film submissions, get on it The Lobby - Edmonton Alternative & Cult Movies (Great Cult Video Store) Blockbuster by Tom Stone (Movie industry book) Stitcher Radio - smartphone replacement app for traditional talk Radio (over 5000 programs) Jango Radio - online music streaming, uses a recommendation engine, it's fantastic and it has an app for most smartphones.  Episode 12 – So what’s the CRTC for again? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:29:41

So... well we tried to understand just what the CRTC does... it sounds like Nathan has a handle on it. We jumped around talking about the Canada Media Fund, Canadian Content rules. The difference between Netflix and traditional distribution. It's a bit of a heavy topic for us simple folk...yadda yadda. Enjoy. -jesse Weekly Plugs The Interplay Film Festival - They're still accepting film submissions, get on it Network - Film (1976) John August - Famous Hollywood Screenwriter's Blog - Writing resource Sean Lecomber - Canadian Comedian Tudor Queens - Fringe Show

 Episode 11 – Simon Glassman felt us up… I know, you’re right, that’s wasn’t a clever title | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:32:34

This Episode is dedicated to the family of the late Ryan Byrne, shortly after the recording of the show he fell into a coughing fit, collapsed and was presumed dead at 9:18PM, June 30th.... the coroners report said the cause was consumption.... actually, I'm only assuming all of this, because you'll notice upon listening he coughed heavily throughout the episode... and you'd be a huge jerk if you said something bad about the audio... someone died here you asshole. Anyway, before dying we interviewed Simon Glassman, the creator of the popular web series felt up, and as you can imagine it was awesome..... enjoy. Also, sorry again for any forced racism, nobody seems to react anymore... as if it's ok... that's terrible. -Jesse Weekly Plugs Thunderfist Productions- Thundercast (local podcast, creative goup) Midnight in Paris Slings and Arrows - TV Series

Episode 10 – The Tito Guillen – Fort Mac Film Stuff | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:17:39

Finally got Tito on the podcast, I'll appologize for the audio quality, it's just with my mic so no big whoop. We also had a bouns guest host today, Ms. Lacey Paige, which I'll admit was a little bit intimidating as she's an actual entertainment journalist, unlike the rest of us nerds. Anyway, I'm in a bit of a big rush right now so I'll wrap up, enjoy.  Episode 9 – The People That Touch Your Podcast | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:10:40

Made a mistake in reference to Nighthawks screening at another festival in Vegas... I don't remember which but this is the link to the actual festival, just to be clear, it's a terrible website but it is indeed a legit show. Check it out Vegas Cine Fest Hey Gang, the first episode of the constantly referred to Web Series will be going on them internets tomorrow, we decided to milk this podcast to talk about it and the online distribution experience thus far. Check it out at Official Site - FoodSeries.tv We also brief on some future non-foodseries plans, like the plans of this podcast and some more theatre related jazz.  Episode 8 – Ryan talks Nextfest… and accidental racism… sorry, mistake | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 57:22

Hey gang, recorded this on a portable recorder so the audio is a little low quality but I wanted to have a same day edit for you.  Episode 7 – Podcasturbation | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:33:11

Here's the latest episode. I'll admit, it's a filler episode (as if the others weren't). Ryan, Chris and I talk about 13 upcoming blockbusters this summer. For the most part we all sound like assholes... especially Ryan. We have a line up of more informative shows to follow this. (not just 'jaw waggin') Jesse

 Episode 6 – Casting and Locations | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 46:47

Episode cut short due to technical difficulties... when I say short that's only within context of the normal length, it's still 45 minutes long. It turns out my statement of "I wont have any time to edit this" has been confirmed, the audio started to bug out and we all turned into robots (voicewise) Sorry Gang Hey Gang, this episode Nathan Chris and Ryan talk getting locations, actors and extras.... meanwhile I spent a lot of my time doodling in my notes. I showed up about an hour and a half late which meant everyone was tanked by the time I showed up. Oh, weird note, hyperphontonic media was there when I arrived, according to facebook I believe that's what Tito is calling himself these days. Anyway, he took off as soon as I started plugging in the headsets, I suppose he felt he would be intruding. The four drunk... hardly even friends drinking and bitching about nothing does seem very formal I imagine. Anyway, enjoy.

 Episode 5 – Rape Sauce | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:09:05

It's like awesome sauce, but more... rapey? Anyway, this episode we talk a little about gear, it's kind of all over the place but there's some good info, ironically the gear we use to record this show is of the cheapest setup possible and we ran into some problems causing a few unintentional breaks in the recording.  Episode 4 – Metro Digital Shorts | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:15:28

This week, I was a little sick, and Chris was out for half of the show for similar reasons, so the energy is a little down.. Anyhoo, we went to the year final for the Metro Digital shorts and basically we discuss this competition as well as fill in the gaps with our common ramblings.  Episode 3 – “Who is… Chris Hill?” | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 46:22

It's been a super busy week, been helping with Chris and Ryan's show. Just finished my last day at my job, planning a trip to L.A. next week and not sleeping for about 3 days this week. I hope you like the show, it's the Chris Hill interview. No Nathan this time, so all the topical and quality info will have to wait until next week.  Episode 2 – Spot the Prostitute with Ryan Byrne | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 40:50

Ok, so we recorded this on the tail end of Easter Weekend and it looks like Jesus and family were more important than our little internet radio show. Basically, everyone was busy being cherished by their families aside from Ryan and I. With a lot of reluctance, I decided I should interview Ryan Byrne and save my prepared topic for the whole gang. So, this is off the cuff and a little random, at least we're sober this time.  Episode 1 – The Pilot – “It’s like a movie but… just the sound part” | File Type: audio/x-m4a | Duration: Unknown

The Pilot Episode for the unofficial Edmonton film podcast. No sponsors, no program. Jesse makes failed jokes out of nervousness until he drinks himself to functional... nobody really seems to notice.
