- Announcing the Kidcast Forums at intelligenic.com/forum- Podsafe music from Geoff Smith - Not on the Radio!- The potential for professional development in podcasting- AAC vs MP3 discussion- All for one or one for all?Don't forget the Podcasting in the Classroom - Podcast Skit contest for this month. This month we are focusing in on podcast dramas.   Think back to the golden age of radio and the theatre of sound that was used to transport listeners into stories.   We would like you and your students to create your own podcast dramas or skits and share them with us. Here's how: Write an original skit that contains at least 2 characters.   Try to teach the listeners something new within the storyline. Keep it short (Entries should be no longer than 3-4 minutes) Record and edit the skit. Add sounds effects and music. Export it as a compressed file (MP3 or AAC) Post it on your school's webserver. Send us the link. We'll be selecting examples from the entries to play on our show.     We're also giving away some great prizes including; include an iPod Shuffle, a $100 gift certificate to FTC Publishing, and 5 copies of "KidCast: Podcasting in the Classroom". Tips and Rules: Deadline Updated! - The deadline for entry is March 31, 2006.   Entries must be received by March 31 to be considered for the contest.   To enter, upload a recording of your skit to a web server and then complete the entry form on our website. Use only original work .   You may not adapt or use copyrighted material for your skit. Enter as a team.    Writing a podcast drama is easier and much more fun when you make it a team effort.   Be creative with sound.   Try to use music and sound effects to help set the scene and move the story along.   Perform your script expressively. Use character voices and expressive reading to make the script come to life. Teach us something.   Use your story to teach the listeners something about science, history, language, math, or another subject in which you are interested.
