The Coaches' Locker Podcast with Chris Fore

The Coaches' Locker Podcast with Chris Fore

Think about your favorite locker. My locker was pretty clean most of the time. That’s just how I am: a neat freak. But my players’ lockers? Most lockers out there are filled with all kinds of things! Pair of cleats, old pair of cleats, 13 socks, an old ball glove, a few balls, seeds spilt all over, 3 water bottles, a belt . . . . . . . and the list goes on right?! Just like most lockers are filled with things that you may or may not need everyday, this podcast will focus on a variety of topics meant for most coaches most of the time. Obviously, a girls volleyball coach in Tennessee probably won’t want to hear much about the 6 Commandments of Your Kick Return Team! We won’t spend much time on xs and os. NO time on defensive or offensive x and os! Lockers get locked, to keep them safe. I want this podcast to be a safe place for coaches to come to during the week. Not a “safe space.” I ain’t talking about that. I’m just talking about a place you can come, as the coach of any sport to find a home! Lockers aren’t good all alone! And those who use lockers aren’t designed to be alone either. Think about how lame a locker room would be with just one locker! Lockers need support. Coaches need support. I want this podcast to be a support to coaches!

Bible Stories As Blueprints Of The Soul

Bible Stories As Blueprints Of The Soul

Contrary to what many people think, the bible is not just a history or fantasy book. Beyond the surface layer lies an intricate web of graciously intertwined symbols which in its entirety can be understood as a record or blueprint of inner dynamics within our human psychology. In this way, each and every story in the bible is not a depiction of historical or legendary circumstances but a mirror of our very own inner life. By decoding these stories and characters we can reveal the hidden connections between seemingly random thoughts and feelings and entirely different dimensions of being. Put simply, the bible does not talk about what's outside of us, but what's on the inside. Although there are names and places in the bible that relate to this world, it talks about another world entirely, and any attempts to approach the bible archaeologically or genealogically – while possible and legitimate in their own right – will not yield any of its inner perceptions. Put simply, the bible is like a kaleidoscope, in that it offers us a radically different perspective on everyday life. By gently turning around the symbols and their meaning in our hearts and minds we participate in the emergence of ever-new configurations and patterns of light. In this podcast we try to approach this inner world through the lens of Hebrew language and letters, building on a rich tradition of interpretation and storytelling. Tourcaster - Ieper Driving 2 Audio Tour

Tourcaster - Ieper Driving 2 Audio Tour

The Ieper (Ypres) Salient was a constant focus of activity throughout the course of the Great War - "The war to end all wars". When one hears tales of trenches feet deep in water, and of soldiers struggling uphill through muddy quagmires, with enemy fire raining down upon them, Belgian Flanders epitomises the struggle. Here, muddy patches of barren treeless land were fought over, backwards and forwards for 4 years, with hardly any change in the line of the Western Front, but at massive human cost.

On these tours you will see what remains even after 90 years; trenches, craters, bunkers and of course cemeteries, which by nature of the decision made not to repatriate the dead, lie silently and peacefully at the then epicentre of the fighting. For anyone who has thought about visiting the Western Front to find out more, or needs to put what they know into perspective, these tours are a rare opportunity to do so and see for yourself, at your own pace.

Part 2 will continue the journey around the Messine Ridge where mine craters remain to bear silent witness to the terrible fighting in the area, visiting places such as Messine, Ploegsteert and the infamous Hill 60. It also visits the Staff Headquarters town of Poperinge (“Pop” in tommy parlance) and Talbot House – the original Toc H. Ghostface Killah

Ghostface Killah

“When you get a new Ghostface Killah album, the only reasonable reaction is to get lost in it,” said the New York Times of Ghost’s last full studio album, ‘06’s instant classic Fishcale. And with the December ’06 release of More Fish and Ghost’s near-constant touring in ‘07, his legions of fans have been happily lost in the World According To Pretty Toney. Now, with a new Def Jam album – The Big Doe Rehab – set for release on December 4th, his current tour with Rakim, and a coffee-table book set for release on January 8th through MTV Press, the devoted will be positively delirious. Fishscale, Tony Stark’s return to vivid street tales and gripping narratives of the drug trade, was greeted with universal acclaim and topped crtitcs’ year-end lists unanimously: Rolling Stone (5), Blender (5), and Spin (4) all anointed the return of the Wu’s greatest banger. The Big Doe Rehab finds Ghost and company still in razor-sharp form, weaving a rich, complex tapestry from tales of drugs, violence, paranoia, love, hate and humor over gritty, soulful beats. The lead single “We Celebrate” featuring Kid Capri is a party on wax, with Ghost proclaiming “Tony Starks just won an Oscar, y’all!” and Capri hyping up the crowd over Rare Earth’s classic “I Just Want To Celebrate.” Elsewhere, Ghost’s partner in crime Raekwon shows up on two of the album’s standouts “Yolanda’s House” and “Shakey Dog Starring Lolita,” an epilogue to the Shakey Dog story on Fishscale. On ‘White Linen Affair (Tony Awards),” Starks and Theodore associate Shawn Wiggs host through a hilarious, star-studded white linen and “Evian water” affair, complete with the requisite A-list – Janet & Jermaine, Kanye & Keyshia, etc. Ghost truly shines on the album’s quieter, darker, more introspective moments, “Walk Around” and “I’ll Die For You.”

Humans of Hospitality

Humans of Hospitality

Humans of Hospitality is a weekly podcast, showcasing stories and insights from the world of independent hospitality – the human beings rather than the big brands. You’ll hear from the producers of ingredients and the people who combine those ingredients to bring you new dishes and drinks… and the owners of the bars, cafés and restaurants who create memorable settings, so you recall your mouth-watering meals years later. They are the people who bring vibrancy to their corner of hospitality and, who, as a group, make all our lives richer and more interesting. If you want a world of formulaic and dull corporate sameness this is not the podcast for you. If you’d like to learn about amazing human beings who dedicate their lives to making the world more diverse for our daily enjoyment, please listen. Each week brings a new inspiring story. Through it you’ll learn about the challenges facing independent businesses in this sector, from excruciatingly tight profit margins to tackling competitors such as Deliveroo and UberEats. We are exploring hospitality in its broadest sense. Farming, politics, culture, cooking, nutrition, welfare, family, business, love and more. Wether you’re a famous figure or total unknown, if you love hospitality and have something important to say, chances are we’ll end up having a conversation. We want to explore the fair production of food, protecting the planet and humanity, whilst ideally tasting awesome. It’s going to be quite the adventurous conversation. In showcasing these stories, founder and presenter Mark Cribb, wants to tip the balance back in favour of independent businesses: “Where we spend our money genuinely makes a difference to the kind of world we live in. So let’s at least make our world interesting.”
