Summary: When Newsweek put his hometown of Grand Rapids on the list of "dying" cities, Rob Bliss responded by recruiting people for a monumental placemaking event. Bliss has entertained Grand Rapids with a Zombie Walk, the worlds largest pillow fight and a 500-foot-long waterslide. Plus, he launched 100,000 multi-colored paper airplanes from downtown roofs while 30,000 people watched from below. Bliss explains his motivation, how he plans and executes these ideas, and what it means from a placemaking perspective. You can find Rob on Twitter @robblissgr.
