As an intuitive reader, she decodes the symbolic message to reveal what the seeker can do to empower themselves in the here and now. She is an assistant manager of the Tarot For Life online community and serves as a mentor for TFL's Readers Group where she assists new readers in finding their unique style and voice. Val fancies herself as the "Tarot Translator." Generally, Val says she dislikes yes/no questions as they seem to eliminate the power of one's free will. When doing live readings, she would help the seeker in rephrasing a yes/no question into something open-ended to deliver a reading that was empowering to the seeker. This worked great when Val had the seeker in front of her (or on the phone, chatroom, instant messenger), but when she started doing email readings, Val found trying to rephrase the question to be extremely time consuming. The final straw, so to speak, was when it took 3 weeks & a number of emails before a "proper" question was formulated. "I decided, then, to re-evaluate my view of yes/no questions and figure out a way to answer them that would be more dynamic rather than sound like the final word on the matter in question.
