Summary: WHAT IS ACT-SO? Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) a major youth initiative of the NAACP. It is a program to encourage, recognize, and reward academic and cultural achievements among African-American high school students through local and national competitions. Competitive categories include the Humanities, Performing Arts, Sciences, and Visual Arts. WHEN WILL THE 2011 ACT-SO COMPETITION TAKE PLACE? The Philadelphia NAACP ACT-SO Competition will be held in Philadelphia, PA on April 30, 2011. First prize local winners will go on to compete in the National NAACP ACT-SO Competition which will take place in Los Angeles, CA on July 20–24, 2011.
