Run the Magic Podcast episode 004 – 12/17/2012

Run the Magic - Disney Half Marathon - Disney Marathon and Disney running with a magical twist! show

Summary: I'm back with episode 4 of the podcast, and today we'll talk about events, training, my recommendations for Disney properties for marathon weekend, and I update you with why I've been out. I saw the Mickey Miles podcast started around the same time as Run The Magic, and did not want to have too much competition in the Disney running area.  But, after talking to several people and getting some great feedback, I'm continuing on! Some about me and my weight gain and running, and podcasts I like. Do make sure you check out the Mickey Miles podcast by Mike Scopa, Michelle Scribner-MacLean, and often Sock Geek Steve Berhnardt from Captal City Running in iTunes though, here - at the Mickey Miles Podcast Also check out Let's Reverse Obesity by John Bukenas Here - Let's Reverse Obesity All the Disney World and Disneyland events are at capacity, so the only way to run in the Marathon Weekend, Tinkerbell, or Princess Half Marathon now is either on craigslist or through a Disney vacation planner, if space is available. In your training, if you're doing the Galloway beginner method, you should have already run 23 miles, have had a couple of recuperation shorted distance weeks, and will run 26 miles this weekend.  For the half, you should have already run 12.5 miles, and will do 14 miles this weekend. I know you're thinking - why take running advice from a fat guy?  Well, I've been there.  I am not a fast runner, never have been, but I've done it.  I've been down that road, and hopefully you can benefit from my journey. One thing I wanted to talk about this week was where to stay for marathon weekend, just in case you haven't already booked your room.  Stay on property! My picks for deluxe are Polynesian or Contemporary, moderate Port Orleans French Quarter, and value is Pop Century. I again want to thank Michelle Scribner MacLean of the Mickey Miles podcast, and for several other nameless people who reached out to me with encouragement or with questions. Tune in next week, and let me know if I can be of help to you in any way! May all your miles be merry!
