Dead Show/podcast for 12/21/12

The Deadpod show

Summary: Happy Holidays! On this Winter Solstice I bring you this the 2012 Holiday edition of the Deadpod. As is our tradition this week's Deadpod features acoustic Grateful Dead for your enjoyment. I decided to make this year's Holiday Deadpod both very classic and a bit different...  First the classic - how about the very first acoustic set from the famous Fall of 1980 shows at the Warfield in San Francisco?  We have the entire acoustic set from this famous show from September 25th, 1980 as well as several songs from the next evening as well.. There is really nothing better to unwind to than these classic acoustic numbers done as only Jerry Garcia and the band can do..  Grateful Dead 9/25/80 - Thursday Warfield Theatre - San Francisco, CA One: Bird Song I've Been All Around This World Dark Hollow  Rosalie McFall Monkey And The Engineer  It Must Have Been The Roses Jack-A-Roe Oh Babe It Ain't No Lie > Ripple 9/26/80 - Friday Warfield Theater - San Francisco CA To Lay Me Down Cassidy China Doll For the less traditional - I recently got ahold of this Jerry Moore tape of Bob Weir and friends - a show that took place back on May 29th, 1986 in New York  City. I really enjoyed hearing Bob's acoustic versions of these songs and decided to include them in part 2 of this year's holiday Deadpod.. I hope you enjoy them as well.. I am blessed to have so many kind friends who enjoy the music as much as I do and I so want you to know how thankful I am for the chance to produce this show each week. I find in these sad times that this music gives me strength and hope, the light it brings me I can't find just anywhere else.. I hope it gives you all peace and joy as well... thank you my friends.. Happy Hanukkah - Merry Christmas - and a warm Winter Solstice to all of you!
