So, Your Teen Is Ready To Drive...Are You Ready?

AADL Events - Video show

Summary: Learning how to drive, obtaining a first driver's license, and beginning to drive without adult supervision are important milestones in teens' lives. Parents and caregivers play an important role in encouraging their teens to become safe drivers - from the first driving lesson well into the first months teens are able to drive on their own. Many parents and caregivers would like more information about what they can do to help their teens be as safe as possible when driving. Dr. Ray Bingham and Dr. Jean Shope of the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute and Dr. Bruce Simons-Morton of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development are among the country's leading researchers in teen driving safety. They will share the latest findings in teen driving research, review the Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) process, answer questions from parents, and tell parents about the resources and strategies available to help them to optimize the safety of their teen drivers at every step in the GDL process.
