REMEMBERING SAXOPHONIST, GEORGE HOWARD

Talking Smooth Jazz show

Summary: "George Howard's polished fusion of funk, jazz and urban soul helped the soprano saxophonist become one of the most popular contemporary jazz performers of the '80s and '90s." (GRP Records) Ron Smith, a veteran and an accomplished musician, has produced, co-produced, written and played for some of the greatest artists, including George Howard. Ron's recordings with George included his debut album "Asphalt Gardens", "Love Will Find A Way", "Love Will Follow", "Personal", and his final, "There's A Riot Going On." I was just getting into smooth jazz when I bought my first George Howard cd "The Very Best of George Howard." I remember the day when I heard on the radio of his passing. Join us on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, as Ron talks about his career with George Howard and the George Howard Jazz Tribute.
