Summary: Elizabeth Catlett is amongst some of the more well-known artists in American art history. Catlett was a printmaker and sculptor whose work was focused on Black-American history and the Civil Rights movement. Many people don’t know that Catlett spent about two years teaching in Durham in the mid-1930s.
