Voice Prompt: So honey, what are you going to rant about today? Can we get a little preview? Michael Smalley: Oh, you can get a little preview because today’s show I'm a little bit nervous about, I'm not going to lie and the reason I am nervous about it is it's not just because it's the fourth and the final installment but at least the fourth episode of the widely popular Personality Series but I'm most nervous because this particular personality style is the exact opposite of who I am. And many times because of who I am as a high off the chart Otter, this personality can at least it can feel like it. It can sometimes look at me like I'm the anti-Christ himself because we are talking today about the Beaver. That's right, the Beaver. And I know if I get things wrong, all the little Beavers out there in the world are going to know because they care about accuracy and high off the chart Otters don't tend to be very accurate. And if you're listening to the show maybe perhaps for the first time and you're going, "What on earth is this man talking about?" Beavers, Otters, or we can add Lions and Golden Retrievers too because by far the most popular area at SmalleyCenter.com is the Personality Inventory Test where we use the ever popular never changing personality system of the animals. So, my dad, Dr. Gary Smalley and his partner in crime years ago, Dr. John Trent wrote a book called The Two Sides of Love and it -- in there it described these four personality types where it kind of takes the old classic disc, DISC test or the old things where they used to call phlegmatic or melancholy, all these crazy names and they geniusly renamed all the different personality, the four -- the four main personality types. They geniusly renamed them to represent animals that sort of made sense to that personality type. So we've already gone over the Lion which is a super strong, king of the jungle, leader, in-charge person. The Otter which is the hyper fun, excited, always busy goofing off has a hard taking life seriously. The Golden Retriever which is the quintessential, sweet, nice, kind, great listening person. And now we've finally arrived to the Beaver and the Beaver is that organized person, the people that love accuracy, the precise people. The quality control...ugh, they love things done well and they take their time to make sure that it is done right. Beavers tend to be discerning, analytical so they can take information from multiple sources and pull it together and make sense of it. These are the designers, the builders, the mathematicians, the CPA's.
