Yoga Nidra with Visualisation

Summary: Hello all, This is a Yoga Nidra practice that I recorded at Bristol City Yoga during an introduction to meditation course that I teach there. Although Yoga Nidra is not meditation, it is deeply relaxing and it can help to open the subconscious mind, relax the body and prepare you for meditation. This practice has a lovely visualisation which takes you on top of the world to view the new dawn in its wonder. I have stuck quite closely to Swami Satyananda Saraswati's instructions for Nidra, although I have included elements of the practice that I have learned from other teachers. The best time to practice this is in the afternoon - instead of a nap. Try not to sleep!! If it is before bed it will almost certainly send you to sleep and can be a valuable tool to manage insomnia.
