Elder Lester also founded “The Nettie Lester Interfaith Choir” and in 1977, “The Little Children of God Choir.” She is a composer/arranger/directress of gospel music, a member of SESAC, the Gospel Music Workshop of America, the Gospel Announcers Guild and a former staff member of the Gospel Music Workshop of America - Academic Division.
