Summary: Judy Joy Jones Show with Doris Williams opens show singing 'The Lord is My Shepherd' accompanying herself on her beloved lute. She has been singing and playing piano since she was 5 years old. Doris grew up in an artistic family in Michigan, with her father practicing piano all day and her mother singing to her. The whole family would gather around the piano and sing a variety of songs, from sacred to secular, broadway to popular. Doris received her Masters in Early Music from Stanford University. In college her parents presented her with a surprise birthday present - an eight course lute! While raising her son and teaching private lessons, Doris's lute did not see the light of day, until the year 2002 when she decided to brush the dust off of it and start performing again. Her lute is now an integral part of her everywhere she goes, whether it be a farmer's market, restaurant, or church hall.
