HMPC 0203 – School Hard * Welcome to the Hellmouth Podcast for the Buffy The Vampire Slayer series Season 2 episode 3 “School Hard” * Remember to visit www.hellmouthpodcast.com (http://www.hellmouthpodcast.com/) * Updating almost daily, sometimes multiple times daily. * Hellmouth hotline * 1-888-818-8941 * A huge thanks to Kim over at Upsidedown and Halfway to Happyland, another Buffy related podcast. (AAC Card) * She played a promo for the Hellmouth Podcast in her newest episode that came out last week. * Kim and the group over there have been great and are much appreciated. * Even more big news for you guys. The Browncoats: Redemption podcast (AAC Card) is now up on itunes and on www.browncoatsmovie.com (http://www.browncoatsmovie.com/) * Episode opens with Principal Snyder giving a very demoralizing speech to Buffy and Sheila. * Snyder is putting the two of them in charge of parent-teacher night. * Buffy’s trouble label is a symptom of the fact that she is actually a hero. I’ll talk more about this as we go through the podcast. * Buffy leaves the meeting trying to work out a loose schedule with Sheila on when they are going to work on preparing for student-teacher night. * Turns out Sheila has been trouble pretty much her whole life according to Xander and Willow who have now joined Buffy. * Buffy makes the comment that being the slayer requires a certain amount of cutting, meaning classes, and fighting. * Xander says not to worry, things will go well as long as nothing bad happens until then you’ll be fine. * Next scene, something bad happens, Spike… William the Bloody… crashes through the Welcome to Sunnydale sign. * The group of vampires who survived after Buffy killed a bunch of them in When She Was Bad have assembled again with the anointed one. They have a new leader who is addressing the group. * The anointed one questions if this one anonymous vampire can do it. After about 10 seconds it is obvious that this is a red shirt vampire. * This weekend is the Night of St. Vigeous * And now we see Drusilla enter the warehouse. * She apparently has some type of power that is above and beyond normal vampires. * Spike dotes on Drusilla, he seems devoted to her. * Spike makes a deal with the anointed one and says he will kill the slayer if he will keep the flunkies off his back. * Spike asks if she (the slayer) is tough. * The next scene is Buffy saying “ow” as she brushes her hair, wearing pajamas with roses on them. Very girlie. * Buffy and her mom have a conversation about parent-teacher night, which Buffy had neglected to tell her mom about. * Joyce is obviously irritated that Buffy had not mentioned it. * Buffy is at school preparing banners for the parent-teacher conference. * Buffy is prepared to skip going to the Bronze in order to study until she remembers that Angel was probably going to be there tonight. * Giles and Jenny Calendar show up obviously in the middle of a discussion or argument. * Giles said that an extraneous lunar cycle was never mentioned in the chronicles. * Jenny – The order never accurately calculated the Mesopotamian calendar. * Snyder interrupts the banner painting. Giles and Ms. Calendar quickly exit. Snyder wants to know where Sheila is. * Sheila stumbles in looking hung-over. Buffy covers for her. * That night at the Bronze… * Spike is at the Bronze and is kind of stalking the group from the shadows, observing Buffy. * He tells one of the vampire flunkies to go get a bite to eat. * This is obviously a ploy to see the slayer in action.
