Summary: Students on the Summer 2011 voyage of Semester at Sea explored the Catalan Coast with professor Sian Davies-Vollum. Carrying out discussions that were begun in the classroom, she's able to show members of the class physical structures put in place along the coast to stop erosion while also putting into perspective the delicate balance between profitable tourism and ecological impacts of development.
