Summary: One of my godbrothers went to the beach in Jagannath Puri, he was a hippie. As he walked he saw something shining on the beach. He went down and looked and there was a little Krishna deity. So he picked Him up and immediately he was attracted to the Deity and without having any other introduction or knowledge about it he carried the Deity to his home and started to offer food to Him. Very shortly after that he went to Hyderabad and met the devotees on the street and they invited him to meet Srila Prabhupada. He went there and fell in love with Srila Prabhupada at once, became his disciple and Prabhupada made him the pujari of Radha Madhava in Mayapur. That was 28 years ago or more and he is still pujari there.
