"Four Years in the Making: The Super Bowl XLV Transportation Plan"

TxDOT-Statewide Podcast show

Summary: For the host city, planning for a Super Bowl begins years in advance of the game itself. But the Super Bowl is more than just a game. It's a week-long event with over 200 attractions across the host region that brings tens of thousands of people to the area on top of those who plan to attend the game - and those visitors are in addition to the hundreds of thousands of residents who use those same roads and venues every day. Effective transportation, therefore, is crucial to the overall success of any Super Bowl event. With that in mind, I spoke with Michael Morris, Director of Transportation for the North Central Texas Council of Governments, who was a key leader in the creation of the transportation plan that helped bring Super Bowl XLV to Texas.
