Summary: Dr. Roman Hayda is co-director of Orthopaedic Trauma at Rhode Island Hospital and Brown University Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and a retired Army colonel. He served as the Chief of Orthopaedic Trauma at Brooke Army Medical Center from 1998 to 2008 caring for wounded and injured servicemembers and their families. From the inception of the Global War on Terrorism, he has been integral in the treatment of war injured servicemembers. Hayda will discuss the Distinguished Visiting Scholar Program and his commitment to care for veterans in his area of expertise while working to improve techniques to care for those who go in harm's way in service of their country.
