Summary: Born in Korea and raised in Syracuse, NY, Alice Chun is an inventor, professor and philanthropist whose work brings light to others. Her son’s chronic asthma and a desire to help reduce environmental pollution and fossil fuel usage motivated Chun to design her first portable solar powered lights, inspired by origami which her artist-mother taught her.
