He lived many decades after the other apostles, and was key in the establishment and growth of the first-century church. Along with the Gospel of John and the book of Revelation, he authored three short letters, unique in their emphasis that love for others is the essential evidence of true love for God. In the first section of 1 John, we see that faith must be founded on a true view of Jesus, obedience to God is evidence that we truly know Him, and Love for people and love for God go hand in hand.</p> <p>This message is part of our God With Us series where Pastor Bob walks us through the entire Bible.</p>
