Episode 288: Reaching the Reluctant Writer, Part 1

The Arts of Language Podcast show

Summary: <p>Frustration and tears are things that many students experience when writing. Consequently, it can be difficult for teachers and parents to encourage these students to complete the task. For the next two weeks, Andrew and Julie will discuss how to reach the reluctant writer. To begin the series, Andrew talks about the importance of understanding <em>why</em> your student is reluctant so that you can best address the issue. Then, Andrew and Julie unpack the writing process and explain the power of the key word outline as it helps students separate the complexity of the process.  </p> <h3>REFERENCED MATERIALS:</h3> <ul> <li><a href="https://iew.com/help-support/blog/reaching-reluctant-writer-part-1-podcast-episode-288" target="_blank">"Reaching the Reluctant Writer, Part 1"</a></li> <li><a href="https://iew.com/help-support/resources/articles/writing-without-tears" target="_blank"><em>"</em>Writing without Tears"</a></li> <li><a href="https://iew.com/shop/products/cursive-knowledge-student-book" target="_blank"><em>Cursive Knowledge</em></a></li> <li> <em><a href="https://iew.com/shop/products/reaching-reluctant-writer-andrew-pudewa" target="_blank">Reaching the Reluctant Writer</a></em> </li> <li><a href="https://iew.com/shop/products/profound-effects-music-life-andrew-pudewa" target="_blank"><em>The Profound Effects of Music on Life</em></a></li> </ul><p>Remember to send your questions to <a href="mailto:Podcast@IEW.com" rel="nofollow">Podcast@IEW.com</a>, and perhaps yours will be answered the next time we Ask Andrew Anything (AAA).</p> <p>If you have any questions about IEW or our products, do not hesitate to contact our Customer Service Team at <a href="tel:800.856.5815">800.856.5815</a> or <a href="mailto:Info@IEW.com" rel="nofollow">Info@IEW.com</a></p>
