Summary: Anyone who knows and loves Jesus is blessed. What’s more, the Lord Jesus keeps loving and blessing us as we continue in Him. If you and I love Jesus, what blessings does He offer us today? Luke tells us about three important blessings promised by Jesus. First, Jesus says, “Blessed...are those who hear the word of God and obey it,” Luke 11:38. Second, Jesus says, “But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous,” Luke 14:13-14. Third, Jesus says, “I am going to send you what my Father has promised; - He was referring to the Holy Spirit, the Comforter - but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high,” Luke 24:49. Then Luke adds, “When [Jesus] had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them. While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven,” Luke 24:50-51. In other words, from the Beatitudes to the Ascension, Jesus offered wonderful, powerful, amazing blessings...blessings that He now offers to you and me today.
